Obama stonewalled for eight years. He ignored congressional subpoenas.

I hope Trump does the same until armed cops physically drag him from the White House.

Your approval of Don's obstruction of constitutional congressional oversight is duly noted.

If Obama and Holder did it, why not Trump?

It’s like umpiring in baseball. We can use a different strike zone than what’s in the rule book, but call it the same way for both teams. Just be consistent.

What grounds is the Trump admin using to deny all subpoenas and requests for documents and testimony?

None. They’ll just ignore them and be held in contempt. Like Holder.

Actually Trump's continual stonewalling and lying is making him look extremely guilty

    Not that you'd care...

As I'm sure you recall.........then again maybe not.........a federal Judge ruled the House's action was "entirely unnecessary" and wrote in the opinion "the Court finds no basis to hold the defendant (Holder) in contempt."

That was because Holder had timely filed a motion to stay the order to turn over the documents, prior to the deadline, wihch the Court didn't rule on prior to the contempt filing. That's why she said it was premature...she then ruled against Holder's motion to stay...http://www.abajournal.com/news/arti...ntempt_over_fast_and_furious_documents_rules_

He of course still hasn't turned over the documents. That of course was a Contempt of Court ruling, not on the issue of Contempt of Congress, which was never litigated because the Obama DOJ (Holder's DOJ) refused to prosecute.

After Holder testified before Congress about Fast and Furious nine times and turned over around 7,600 documents the Repubs found a way to politicize the matter even further by asking for more documents. One wonders why they bothered to hold the contempt vote at all seeing as the final dispensation on the non-civil side had to go through the DOJ. So......why bother?
As a PR stunt. Exposed as such because the IG investigation had already cleared Obama and Holder of any responsibility or knowledge of F&F.
Ah yes, those were the days when blackmenbad was at its peak.

    Liberal/radical judge.

Trump isn’t going to respond to the partisans in congress who are not conducting a legitimate investigation.

Yes, because the documents that were turned over contradicted Holder's prior testimony about when he learned of the gun running. That's why they asked for more documents, and why Holder refused to turn them over. He didn't want to be impeached and charged with perjury.

Not sure how the IG report cleared Obama and Holder....the IG report was pretty clear the project was run with incompetence.

The reason for it, even knowing that the Obama DOJ wasn't gonna prosecute, was to show contempt for the horrible behavior.

I see you've already memorized the talking point. But.........the investigations are all constitutional and all within Congress' authority to conduct them.

Sen. Kamala Harris called on the Justice Department inspector general to look into whether Attorney General William Barr had received or complied with any requests from the White House to investigate President Donald Trump’s “perceived enemies.”

House Judiciary Schedules Wednesday Vote On Bill Barr Contempt Resolution

    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/bill-barr-judiciary-committee-contempt-resolution

The House Judiciary Committee has scheduled for Wednesday a committee vote on a report recommending that Attorney General Bill Barr be held in contempt for failing to turn over an unredacted version of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report. If the recommendation passes, the next step — if Democrats seek to move forward with holding Barr in contempt — would be a vote on a contempt resolution on the House floor.

“Although the Committee has attempted to engage in accommodations with Attorney General Barr for several months, it can no longer afford to delay, and must resort to contempt proceedings,” the Judiciary Committee report released on Monday reads.

Trump Opens New Fronts In All-Out War On Congressional Accountability

    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/muckraker/trump-war-congress-oversight

Suing Deutsche Bank. Threatening the IRS commissioner. Ordering subordinates to ignore congressional subpoenas.

The last few weeks have seen the Trump White House and President Trump personally open up new, dramatic fronts in his war on congressional oversight.

Conflict between branches of government — especially when they are controlled by opposing parties — is nothing new. Few observers expected the Trump administration to roll over and provide Democrats with volumes of documents and evidence once they took control of the House.

But this stonewalling represents a never-before-seen pattern of thwarting Congress’ right to monitor the executive, former congressional staffers and historians told TPM. The country is witnessing a breakdown in the incentives that have traditionally driven oversight in American politics, they said.

Barr’s use of the word “spying” is going to the trigger word of the year.
