Well, I guess if you consider human misery and death as good for the environment, you are right. I, on the other hand, value human existence over malaria-carrying mosquitoes and am not looking forward to it. Thankfully, we have elections every 4 years and we can fire the bastard.

Don't fear the automation--whatever future reason, science, and technology bring, all will benefit, from the lowest of the lowest to the highest of the highest. Doubt it? Don't.

    [

Isn't that the Trump family motto?

Trump is doing this to benefit his friends who have a lot of shitty stuff to dump on us. Get ready for higher prices and lower quality for everything. Remember this in 2020

Are you forgetting China holds over a $T in American debt? Your solution is far to extreme and just might force China to collect on the debt America owes them. Americans would lose a hold lot more if your solution was applied.

Funny how lefties have made a 180 on Chinese goods due solely to Trump tackling the imbalance, a good thing for America.

And Trump's tariff solution is to burn Americans to teach the Chinese a lesson in economics they will never forget. This isn't even a plan. It's just Trump throwing a temper tantrum because sometime in his past, China pissed him off.

That's what happens when you spend 20 years fully focused on 'social justice' (aka, First World problems) and forget to develop actual working policies.

You thought serious adjustment to our abuse of the environment would be painless? That you'd somehow keep the cushy and safe lifestyle you're accustomed to? Wow.

Past administrations have also accused China of stealing American technology and selling it for far cheaper than Americans can produce it. Americans who actually know what China is doing are applauding Trump for finally standing up to China.

LOL, it is China's plan to burn Americans and they have been doing it for decades with no President or Congress doing anything about it. Now comes someone willing to fight it and the left poops in their pants and all of a sudden, after fighting against cheap Chinese goods, they are all for protecting China.

    Righties are myopic.
It's like the wall. We aren't against it in places we are against Trumps sea to shining sea approach.

Myopia is doing the same thing over and over again thinking it will be different, or is that the definition of insanity.

Trump is getting things done that politicians have been whining about for 50 years but doing nothing about. For the lefties this is somehow treasonous behavior.

    So far,

And that is arguable. The stock market is very overvalued, a dangerous sign

Who cares about stock market. The main indicator of the economic health is unemployment and wage growth. Both of those are doing very well. That means people have money and they spend it.

Trump and his supporters certainly cared when it reached 26000 over 16 months ago - predictions of reaching 30,000 by end of 2018 and 50,000 by end of 2020, and many threads created. It's funny that it suddenly became unimportant

Pollination is not a justification for slavery, or suicide, or homicide. You know you can’t win, right? Reason is on the side of the good; and capitalism is good, and environmentalism is bad.

Then, present the case, take China off of “most favored nation” status, and strengthen ties with India, Taiwan, and Japan.

If China is the authoritarian monstrosity you postulate, then slay the beast and be done with it. All tariffs do is loot the productive, not punish the living dead.

Since technological change affects all members of society, how can you siphon off responsibility for adaptation to only one side? Everyone must play a part here.

I'm a liberal Democrat, & I want government to support science & technology development that holds promise for benefiting our society. This would be nothing new. We have historically used government to assist in supporting research & development of a wide variety of studies & programs that have helped us become more advanced.

Rather than wasting our time finding more ways to blame others, why don't we use our valuable time finding solutions to this inevitable trend?
