Every time I come to this board, I think that it cant get any more ridiculous. And yet every time I come here it becomes so farcical its beyond parody now.

The right in this country is now support foreign intervention into our elections. Are you f’n kidding me ?

The next righty that tries to wrap themselves in a cloak of the american flag and call themselves a patriot on this board gets called out. The right proves more and more every day that they are party over country every time. If you support this, your not an american. Their is no wiggle room here. If you take help from a foreign government in an election, and do not report it to american authorities, your a traitor. FULL STOP

Hopefully he saved enough money to keep himself in Viagra and Hookers (until he croaks from Morbid Obesity).

Maybe the Russians can help him with that?

Trump wanted to build a tower in Moscow. Its the "You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" type of routine.

Same thing as Trump's in-law is good buddies with the Prince of Saudi Arabia, and Trump is about to give them billions in arms sales.

Tell me, do you really believe Putin was waiting to get Trump’s permission to hack Clinton, and this was after Obama had the cyber security people stand down? And if Trump was secretly colluding with Russia, then why did he make his crack about Clinton’s emails on national TV rather than secretly collude with them?

You know, you guys call Trump Putin’s puppet, now you’re saying Putin gets his orders from Trump.

I saw the whole quote, I'm not naive enough to just take the word of one source, I check multiple sources. I know what he said. You are the one defending a traitor to the United States over everyone and you accuse the left of being haters? That's just too bizarre for words.

You're leaving out the important fact Trump said weeks before the election, if he lost, the election was rigged somehow.
Should Obama not take blame for telling his cyber security team to stand down? No, but it definitely would play into Trump's post-election narrative.
I don't think anyone believes Trump was secretly colluding with Russia, that went out the window the day Trump bragged on national TV.

Everyday Americans don't follow politics religiously. They only take notice maybe two weeks before an election, because they're too busy with life. That's how Trump (and ultimately, Putin) can win elections. They manipulated the American voter the last time around, Russia's not complaining about Trump so why wouldn't they try doing the same again?

The OP is about Trump saying that he might listen to foreign people giving him dirt on someone in a campaign. The OP claimed that doing such would be criminal. If it is criminal then what Hillary actually did do was criminal (going by the OP's reasoning). They are the same instances. As such it is quite a legitimate debate tactic to bring up Hillary as the parallels are exactly the same. There is no need to start a new thread and clutter up the forum just because you do not want to acknowledge Hillary's own use of foreign nationals in her own attempt to gather dirt on Trump.

Is it foreign interference to use a British foreign national to gather dirt on your opposition in an election campaign?

What to you exactly is foreign interference? Mind you, I agree that Russia tried to influence our national election. So perhaps we can find some common ground in that?

Nope. Why? Because Russia had ALREADY hacked Hillary's emails. That comment that you refer to was said after we had already learned that Hillary had used bleachbit on her servers...which by the by was done after she was under a subpoena to turn over her emails and servers. There was literally nothing left to hack. Context matters. What he said was, at least at the time, said in jest and no one with any brains expected Russia to actually hack those servers again.

That was legitimate opposition research. If you remember, or maybe you don't, the entire opposition research on Trump was started by one of his Republican opponents during the primary. After he was knocked out of the running, it was picked up by the Clinton campaign and Marc E. Elias, a lawyer representing the Clinton campaign and the DNC, retained Fusion GPS, a Washington firm, to conduct the research.

Glenn Simpson, owner of Fusion GPS is an American, he hired Christopher Steele, a former British MI6 intelligence officer. NOBODY involved was a foreign adversary. That is in no way interfering with the election as Russia, one of the greatest threats to U.S. democracy, had done to help Trump win.

I'll explain this to a Trump supporter for the umpteenth and LAST time. You actually have to READ it to understand how wrong you are about this ****ing Uranium One drum you keep beating to death. If you read it you will understand how wrong you are and how idiotic it is to keep bringing up this dead horse to beat over and over again.

Taking any information, any aide whatsoever from a nemesis, a rival, enemy, foe -- it's all the same - taking any help or assistance from one of those countries is against the law. AGAINST the law!

Trump has conditioned all of us to accept things like what he said today and you don't feel the outrage that you should be feeling. He has normalized the absolutely abnormal. Today's interview with George Stephanopoulos, taken alone, as he spoke it from behind the Resolute desk, is and of itself an impeachable moment. This wasn't Donald Trump being cavalier or 'joking around', this was the President of the United States saying he would be willing to engage in the commission of a crime to benefit his own re-election. The fact that he would entertain any support - especially from an adversary - for his own benefit is an act of treason and antithetical to our democracy.

This is the President of the United States who cried 'no collusion' for over 2 years who went on camera today actually stating that he would take help from a foreign adversary.
