In fact, the Trump Administration openly floated reopening the Russian facilities, and Mike Flynn told the Russian FSB head of station in the us that Trump would remove the sanctions.

Indeed, Trump did remove the sanctions on one specific Russian oligarch, Oleg Deripashka (who owned Paul Manafort). McConnell dutifully blocked the Senate from exercising its Constitutional authority to stop Trump, and was rewarded with $200 million in pork from the Russians for his district.

 

The far right continues to project their fears and their fumbling efforts to retain power onto their political enemies.
