    The candy was not the reason American DC3s were landing in Berlin

    America brought food to starving West Berliners

    Which led to tearing down the Berlin Wall and the freeing of East Berliners 40 years later

    Thats not an act of kindness. Its an PR stunt to thow candy over one of the richest nations in the world. Simpy to make the americans feel better and clap on their own backs.

    Why dont take the candy and give it to the many poor children in USA?

    Sorry, but Germany was Great Britain's ally during the Revolutionary War. Germany supplied the Hessians who were mercenaries for hire. Von Steuben volunteered to help the Americans. He trained some soldiers, but he certainly did not train them all. We certainly could have won without him. LOL After the war, he stayed in America... France was our ally toward the end of the war, only when they realized that the colonies could beat their mortal enemy, Great Britain.

    Don't make it up as you go. West German development was totally owed to the efforts of the US and Western Europe. Mostly guided and funded by the US. The US airlift effort didn't deliver candy to kids, some good hearted American airmen did that on their own.
    It's this German arrogance that got your asses kicked. Twice.

    I can understand that. I travel a lot, am in the tourist business, and because Germany is a first world country we should expect more. France used to be bad, especially in Paris, but they're much better now after the government finally recognized the problem and did some host training.

    Germany is amusing, and I do laugh, because their rudeness is quite comical, the stereotypical type we can often see in old movies.
