And she can do so on her own personal time NOT when she is part of the national team engage in representing the country when it is NOT about HER and who she wants to have sex with. She is a disgrace to the team and the country.

She doesn't protest for the sake of just herself. What a failure from you to even think that.

“So it's kind of a good ‘F you' to any sort of inequality or bad sentiments that the [Trump] administration might have towards people who don't look exactly like him.

What the **** is she talking about?

Sadly, most of the RW has no "opinion" beyond their daily dose of Breitbart.

    Megan Rocks!

    I hope more 2020 Olympians follow suit.:salute:

You wish more Olympians hate the country they are representing?

    Makes sense for you...

It's all about herself and her political view which has no place on our national team at their world cup game. The team managers should disallow her to do so AS A MEMBER OF AND A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE TEAM AND OUR COUNTRY. She do all her political protest on her own dime and her own time. If she can't abide by that then she shouldn't play on the team and go play for another country.

It's not about whether she had an opinion or what it is, it is not the time and place for her PERSONAL political views. She is put on that team to represent and honor the country for which she is playing if she can't do that then take advantage of the team to increase your personal worth. :salute:

She can evidently use her position on the high profile US team to stage her protest and thus it will have more impact in her view. If it were illegal or against the rules she would no doubt be removed from the team. War profiteering scum have been using athletic events for decades to stage promotions for their idiotic wars. In a spirting event, I am more concerned about what a competitor does during the game, not before or after.

Really? That's all you need? And to think that psychologists study for years and need weeks or months of sessions before they are willing to make a judgment that you are capable of making from a single sentence. You are truly gifted! :eyepopping:

I think it speaks well of our country that she can do what she wants in regards to the anthem. I suspect there are a few teams where if the captain did something similar they would never be seen again.

I wasn’t a big fan of the NFL kneeling thing either, but I’m thankful as long as the league and owners are ok with it the government can pound sand.

I think sometimes we get caught up in the drama and forget the truly important aspects of these things.

What is she doing that is unpatriotic?
Are all those kids also unpatriotic?

Rapinoe’s reasons for not singing national anthem
For Rapinoe, the anthem is a “somber moment” for a “peaceful protest” of inequality and injustice throughout the United States.

No where in the article is tRUMP even mentioned.
Why are RWers so sensitive? That they make up BS?

Putting your hand on your heart is childish anyway. Doing it is not a sign of dedication ... it is a sign that McCarthyism has you scared to death.

Furthermore, tell me that you do not know this picture is photoshopped.

Me, what place does it have at that sporting event which is nit a political event and about our national sports team. If she has such displeasure being on the team then don't be on it.

She is there to represent the country and the national team instead she makes it about herself and her desire to slam our country, I thought that was perfectly clear.

Guess you didn't bother to read some of the links about why she is not singing during the NA?

Hint, tRUMP is NEVER mentioned in the reason. So, 1 of them is wrong and just playing silly partisan politics when politics wasn't in the equation.

What a foolish statement. Did you read the link about why she doesn't sing?
Nothing about slamming the country. Why not deal with her reasons instead of making up your very own. Why the need to always put words or thoughts into other peoples minds or voices?

Since when is standing up for human rights ''stupid and unpatriotic''?

There you go again - BLAME OBAMA!

She's proudly playing for the USA and bringing honor to her country. Don't see any rednecks accomplishing half of what she is doing.

Note all the anger, hate, and innuendo from the right wingers.

By contrast, for those of you watching the games, the large, patriotic crowds are shouting "USA! USA!" and cheering her on because she is a yuge hero to the team and to the USA.

The right of protest was an American value until trump came along. Your loyalties are more in line with the old USSR or China, than America.

I'm sure in North Korea all athletes are highly dedicated to their furor. Maybe you should move there.

Did you not read the OP?
"During the Yahoo! Sports interview, Rapinoe proudly dubbed herself “a walking protest when it comes to the Trump administration” because of “everything” she “stands for,” hinting at her sexuality.

“I feel like it's kind of defiance in and of itself to just be who I am and wear the jersey, and represent it. Because I'm as talented as I am, I get to be here, you don't get to tell me if I can be here or not,” she said.

“So it's kind of a good ‘F you' to any sort of inequality or bad sentiments that the [Trump] administration might have towards people who don't look exactly like him. Which, God help us if we all looked like him. Scary. Really scary. Ahh, disturbing,” added the soccer star."

She is not a member of our national team representing our country on the world stage to demonstrate her personal political views. It is a selfish self serving act.
