Florida Approves Bill Allowing Classroom Teachers To Be Armed

Gun laws are anti science.

 

Nah....it makes sense. Why ought a Teacher be charged with a duty to shoot back? They are there to teach....not shoot.

 

Yes, they are arming the teachers, while calling the armed guard at the school "the coward of Broward", and looking to thrown him in jail. If the teachers agree to carry a gun, do they also have to agree being labeled cowards and possibly going to prison if they fail to demonstrate courage under fire?

 

Why are all of you mischaracterizing this.
It ALLOWS teachers to be armed. No teacher who who don't want be armed are going to be compelled to do so.

 

Oh sure. And when (not if) it happens at a School where Teachers were allowed to have guns, and they did not have guns.....you watch the fingers of scorn, derison and blame come out against them...'We allowed you to have guns.....why didn't you have one and protect my dead kid?' You are putting them under pressure...guilt tripping them to become Sheriffs. Nah. Stop the guns. Protect your kids at school.

 

Same reason we're armed at the grocery store, or the gas station, or any where else... because a cop is too heavy to have in your pocket.

 

You should try a different line of work then.

You go to your local School tomorrow and VOLUNTEER to be the guy (with his gun) who is gonna stop the bloke with the assault rifle blazing away at the kids, and don't you dare fail because if you do, the parents of those kids will find a Lawyer happy to sue your arse off.

What an odd thing to say. What is an acceptable level of performance while engaging a school shooter? Would you expect the armed mother of three kids to perform on the same level as an FBI field agent? Where would you set the bar?

The new number is closer to 600 million guns, and yes, I do believe that 600 million guns can stop a tyrant.

Not necessarily. Once the shooting starts, any armed teacher somewhere in the building will hear it and act accordingly. The shooter isn't going to know who is armed and make a bee line to that teacher. It's not like this idiotic video of a gunman heading straight to the concealed carrying person and then ambushing him is believable in the slightest.


That only works when the gunman knows who is armed and can get easy access to him, such as an armed guard at the front door.

I got news for you, workers can quit their jobs at any time, unless they are in the military. You seem to wish to trample on the rights of workers who do not wish to support corrupt union officials who care more about their power than the union membership.

 

Some of those "gun deaths" are a great thing. The guys who tried to rape a 12 year old but the Mother shot them and prevented it, me and my side count that as a win, you and your side decry the "gun death" of the rapists. You actually use their deaths in order to try to keep other Mother's unarmed and prevent the rapists death.

I'm in a union job in a right to work state. That has not had any affect on the union membership going on strike. Those who left the union are free to cross the picket line yet I've seen far more union members cross the picket line than non-union employees.

 

Their prerogative. There are a lot of scenario's where I wouldn't use my firearm.
