Florida Approves Bill Allowing Classroom Teachers To Be Armed

I was on the union executive and we got more than a few teachers to stay by convincing them to write their own curriculums. When we showed them what we did with our courses it was like an electric shock for the good ones. We never had management go after a teacher who went rogue. We even had teachers in math, science, and computer science innovating. I'm retired now, but it's still going on in the district.

My economics course was taught using a first year university text. I converted by marketing courses to showing students how to start their own businesses.

When teachers would come to us later and tell us they never had to much fun, we got them to join us and spread the word.

 

Hire security guards and quit hassling teachers.

If you think I'm opposed to firearms because I won't carry in a school, try coming through my front door without knocking.

 

Maybe not, but I think a lot of city folks are getting tired of living this way.

 

Or until some teacher either leaves his/her gun lying around or gets jumped by students and they gain control of the gun and start shooting students/teachers.

The state pols are at least partly responsible for cleaning up the problem. They have the power to toss out the elected officials and run Chicago themselves.

 

Good teachers will quit, just like employees in a store won't carry to fend off customers. Life is too short for that sh't.

 

And of all thoes gun death the biggest portion are suicides which in not criminal and 80% of what it left is gang related which nearly exclusively uses guns acquired illegally.

We have a mental health problem and we have gang problems. Take those two items out of the list and we are down the list of gun deaths.

Because banks (dunno about Court Houses) have always been targets for baddies after money....not death.

Absolutely. 300 million guns in the hands of civilians will not withstand an attack (short or sustained) by the US Military.

Better than pretending that you have a gun to protect yourself or to stop a political tyrant.

It would be very difficult for me to ask the government to please wait while I got my gun. Maybe if we made guns more difficult we would be like other industrialized countries. Yep let’s make America the wild west but deny people healthcare

 

Ever wonder why we have the highest gun mortality among industrialized countries? I think the real issue and the collapse of culture is not progressive ideology but right wing ideology that wants to go back to the wild west.
