- No. We can fact check stuff, you know. Not even Google has shut down free speech that far, yet. Reagan: 16.5 million jobs during his eight-year term, a 16.5 percent increase. Reagan was the second-largest job creator both number-wise and percentage-wise. There were 116.1 million people working in December 1988 compared to 99.6 million in December 1980. Carter: 9.8 million jobs, a 10.9 percent increase. He did that by adding $299 billion to the $699 billion debt but increased the Federal debt by a whopping 43%. Carter lost the election to Reagan due to suffering economics and he was considered a weak President, in wake of his failures in foreign policy. You were probably not born yet or too young to remember back that far (I am guessing you are still young, lucky for you) but a lot of us remember it well as we were living through it and even serving in the military under both Presidents. Carter was a terrible President that lost the confidence of the nation and Reagan steamed rolled him in a one sides landslide.
Reagan also reduced the Misery Index (Inflation rate + unemployment rate) to 7.7 from a high of 21.98 under Carter.
Jimmuh Carter, nice guy would make a good neighbor BUT sucked as President. Don't know which was worse his Presidency or his brothers Billy Beer.
Carter is great compared to the tyrant lying lunatic cry baby kindergarten moron in office today. Who is to stupid to know the color of his jello.
I'd vote for the decrepit Jimmy Carter's last bowel movement (who knows when??) over the turd in the WH today... P.S. Not too shabby for 94... I wonder what the orange of his stamina is??
Not exactly, he was winning the Cold War, over Democratic objections. Tax receipts doubled after his tax cut, it was a spending problem, i.e., Congress/Tip O'Neil.
Its Obama's economy. He fixed your last prezs mess and did sooo goood even tRUMP hasn't been able to f it up yet. Ain't that the truth.
Lol. I knew you blame all on Carter. But flip when it came to Reagan. You know the prez signs spending bills?
He's the man who installed national price controls, drove the FED interest rate to 18% and gave away the Panama Canal. But he was a gentleman about it.
It's interesting that our same leftists had very little use for Jimmy Carter's 'opinions' during the Obama years when it became very obvious that Carter and Obama did not like one another. Now all of a sudden they have become Carter fans once more. Just before the end of Obama's run as president Carter announced that Obama was the first modern president NEVER to seek out Carter's opinions or help on any issue, but that prior to Obama all previous modern presidents -- including Republican presidents -- did do just that. The leftist response to Carter's announcement was . . . "Carter? Who the hell is this Jimmy Carter?" So . . . it . . . goes.
LOL, how come none of this good stuff happened under 'Obama's economy'? Lowest unemployment in 50 years, highest consumer confidence in 15, lowest minority unemployment ever, 3.1% growth last quarter, something Barry said was a thing of the past, manufacturing up, etc., etc., etc. Too incoherent to respond to. No it ain't.
And enabled the Islamofascists to gain power in Iran. He dumped the Shah because he wasn't 'pure' enough.
Too big of words? All that good stuff is the result of fixing the mess Rs left for him. The current economy is still on those coattails.
Right.... remember when our Presidents didn't kowtow to the Soviets/Russians?? MAGA indeed!! P.S. He didn't really win the Cold War as much as the other team folded, but good on him for being there....
Demonstrably false dribble. Carter’s economic growth was entirely inflationary. Every year inflation outpaced gdp growth. That’s easy to do, and it’s incredibly bad hence the term stagflation defining the peanut farmer’s presidency. Only Keynesians believe a drop in productivity can be offset by higher prices.
Just goes to show you, there are always two truths in politics. We are probably in some trouble if we can't settle on a single truth at some point in time.
