I agree. Obama kowtowed to them terribly. Good to have a tough president who sanctions them instead.

Reagan's long gone, my friend... the current president is Putins shlyukha.. He's the one who delays and looks for reasons to deny Congressional sanctions..

You must be confused... perhaps it's the heat?

No, an older respected former president.... I know that's a new concept for you, that obviously won't be repeated in 2021....

I take issue with the idea that he is respected.

I love the first line..... WHO could that possibly be a dig at??

    SNIP
In 1981, following his defeat in the 1980 United States presidential election, former U.S. president Jimmy Carter returned to Georgia to his peanut farm, which he had placed into a blind trust during his presidency to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest.

It explains why Carter is a tired old disgruntled failed President who has no sense of proper former president decorum still trying to pretend every admires him for his presidency. Who cares what he thinks?

What they did was evil and they lost their jobs. Maybe that's as far as it goes.

You mean before on an open mic he offered to bend the nation over for Putin by being more flexible after his re-election? Oh wait, that traitor was Barack Obama -- and leftists . . . cheered.

I'll take your word for that.... I doubt any "leftists" really "gave a crap" about Obama working with the Russians in the open air...

Are you aware prezs don't dictate inflation? That falls into fed res category.

Especially the question on everybody's lips - How do we stomp the powder puff in the WH into the ground next November..... Google seems to have all the answers to that, according to every other thread on the forum these days....

Irrelevant. Carter's GDP growth never once exceeded inflation for a single year of his presidency. By some(sane) measures of economic growth, that's called a contraction.

By your numbers 9.8 million jobs or 2.45 million a year for Carter and 16.5 million or 2.06 million a year for Reagan. Next thing you are going to tell me, Reagonomics rose all boats. That is why we no longer have poverty or homeless people.

The 1970's saw the greatest economic expansion our country has ever seen. Think about this. In 1970, only about 10% of women worked outside the home. At the end of 1979 it was like 80%. Throughout the 70's especially during Ford and Carter's terms, the economy massively expanded. And with families now having a second income, consumption and thus inflation went through the roof. My family did very well during the 70's, as I'm sure anyone owning a home before 1980 was and is.

I voted for Reagan in the first election I ever voted in. By his second term I had graduated from college and was on to the Republican con.

Do you know what causes inflation?

Merchants want to make as much money as they can. But if they charge too much, less people will buy from them. So there is a cap on what a company can charge for its products. Yet if customers have more money they will likely pay more. Thus, as the people's wages increase, merchants gently raise their prices to capture the increase.

To fully understand the economics of the 70s one must be cognizant of the fact that at the beginning of the 70s very few women worked outside the home, and that at the end of the decade most women did. That alone completely reorganized our economic structure. In the chaos and turmoil of the times, the right wing (those who think the wealthy should rule) managed to saddle the country with Reaganomics.

It should be noted that Reagan tripled the fed deficit during his presidency.

That means monetary expansion, something a prez doesn't control, outpaced growth. Blame fed res.

My numbers, which are facts, proved that what you claimed was incorrect. carter did NOT create more jobs in 4 years than Reagan created in his 8 year term. Now you resorted to spinning a bunch of nonsense that has nothing to do with your original claim that was debunked.

We can fact check stuff like that so we know what you said was not true.

I'm sorry. I thought I was communicating with one who understands the difference between absolute values and rates of change.

During Carters term and Reagan's first, twice the rate of jobs were created during Carter's than Reagan's.
