    I see few real debates on here....everyone has an opinion though....some can defend their opinions others cannot.

    You display an irrational hatred of our President...at a time when such partisanship should be set aside so that we can all join together with others if at least for a brief moment and express some kind of gratitude of being so fortunate to live in America.

    You want to make patriotism political....patriotism should encompass all parties....democrat, republican or whatever.

    Patriotism is support for the highest ideals of the nation, not for whoever happens to be in the White House.

    What was the 'ridiculous assertion' about patriotism you are referring to?

    No one on the left, less some fringe elements, is Anti-American. We are just anti you. We are shocked at what people like you have become. We are outraged at how trumpers has betrayed and sold out the real America and American values - not trump values, American values. But you don't know the difference.     Someone who hides behind the term patriot and uses that term as a lazy way of defining thier political thinking

    The others are right. A TRUE patriot is committed to improving his or her country. You can be a patriot just by voting, you can be a patriot by cleaning up litter in the local park, you can be a patriot by writing to a member of Congress and you can be one by defending your country p, when it is required

    And like me, by going to work most every day and taking care of my family. I don't need to publicize it. As a matter of fact, publicizing it cheapens the act. Of course I realize I am publicizing it now, lol. That's a head scratcher...………….

    I agree there are a lot of ways to demonstrate ones devotion to country.

    I have no idea of what you are talking about in the first paragraph....but again....as I mentioned already....you seem to be linking patriotism with politics. Patriotism should transcend politics....that is one reason we are so divided....some are willing to tear down or even destroy America in order to pursue their political agenda.
