One very important difference I've noticed between liberals and conservatives

And you don't see liberals beating up conservatives either. To lump all of any group in with the actions of extremists is ridiculous - unless, of course, conservatives want to be painted with the same brush as white supremacy.

 

I've been noticing and commenting upon just that for the last month. I can't get over the glee exhibited by members of the right (at this site) over the deep division between the parties. And across the country.

It is because politics are being processed the same way as a sports team. Doesn’t matter if the opposition goes over a cliff in a bus so long as your team “wins”

What is really strange is that even when Origami Don is doing his usual folging act on a key principle I.e health care, the wall, tariffs etc the still cheer him as “winning”. I can’t imagine them at a match. Thier players could kick a ball into the opposing teams goal and they would blame the umpire

One very important difference, which you failed to mention, is that all too many on the left defend, support, or cheer on the actions of their terroristic brothers and sisters.

You don't have that type of thing with conservatives vis-à-vis white supremacists.

There's always been a radical Left willing to physically confront the issue [Civil Right/ Anti-war etc.]. I remember the violent battles between students and the police that closed down universities/ merchants. The Symbionese Liberation Army/ Patty Hearst were mainly robbers so they used guns in banks. Antifa has no standing with the Democratic party. Basically college students, who want to wear bandannas and get into fist fights. Let's not dramatize who antifa is.

 

You don't remember the White House being lit up in gay pride colors over SSM? How about Obama telling republicans to sit in the back of the bus and eat your peas?

 

I've heard Chris Matthews and Melissa Harris Perry call anyone who disagreed with Obama a racist.

 

I would define 'normal liberal' as a person who lives their life without bothering others and supports the Democrat party.

And I looked at the other thread - as it is with so many threads, it was mostly a back and forth about how one party doesn't condemn the actions of the extreme fringe. On both sides.

I will happily condemn violence - on either side - without reservation.

 

They do it themselves; with the tacit approval of elected members of the Democrat party (Maxine Waters) and some Democrat media propagandists (Chris Cuomo).

 

I wish that the Democrats would offer me an alternative to the Republicans. As it stands, I cannot vote for hate, divisiveness, and the destruction of the country. I don't understand how it is that anyone can.

 

This is where I draw the line: heckling a Trump cabinet member/ dumping horse poop in their driveways/ giving the finger to Trump star/ buildings/ MAGA caps are legit expressions that may come with a fine. Beating up people like the conservative journalist/ destroying property are crimes that every Democrat condemns.

 

I have yet to beat up anyone so far this year..

 

Then why do you vote for Trump he represents the same thing, just different issues.
