2 Louisiana police officers fired over Facebook post suggesting A. Ocasio-Cortez should be shot

Two police officers in Louisiana were fired Monday after one wrote a Facebook post suggesting Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez should be shot and the other liked it.

Officer Charles Rispoli wrote in the post last week that Ocasio-Cortez is a "vile idiot" who "needs a round...and I don't mean the kind she used to serve."

Apparently some cops (in Louisiana, at least) aren't satisfied doing "normal cop stuff" (like getting away with murder and being on the take).

These cops felt the need to advocate for the Assassination of a Sitting Congresswoman.

I am glad that their employers did the right thing, and that these officers were deservedly terminated.

Still, it is clear that President Trump's Recent RACIST Attacks (against AOC and others) enabled these (now Ex) Cops to advocate Assassinatng AOC.

Thoughts?

 

I'm heavy into political social media and that means diving into places containing extremism you wouldn't believe. I honestly cant make it through a day and sometimes not though a single hour without seeing left-wing people making similar comments about violence directed at various right-wingers, named or in general reference. If the comments of these two officers were enabled, as you claim, by the Presidents leadership then wouldn't that also mean that all violent political themed comments can be laid at the feet of various politicians who typically bring the targets of said violent comments to public attention?

 

Find us a Democratic politician who holds hate rallies and spews that kind of language in a public venue the way Trump regularly does.

The OP thinks those social media posts can be traced back to the President despite no objective connection. I cant objectively trace any of the thousands of violent left-wing comments I see on social media to specific politicians so I'm wondering if this mysterious connection the OP is posing can be defined or if its just a belief.

My thoughts? The left had a Disney executive tweeting a cartoon depicting the Covington kids being sent through a wood chipper. He did not lose his job.

I think these cops should have their jobs back and the people who fired them should be fired. Until the left begins playing by the rules, why should we?

As somebody who thinks that AOC is a twit, and unAmerican, I agree with their firing. Threatening people is not a protected act, especially if you're a police officer.

 

Yet this pails in comparison to the daily posts on twitter, facebook, and other social media platforms where people openly express their desire for our Commander in Chief to be killed.

All I see are double standards.

 

Must be Democrat cops paying too much attention to racist political leaders like Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden.
All the Republicans I know want to see AOC re-elected.

 

Here are my thoughts. Next time you are in trouble call a hippy.

 

Cops should be fired and never allowed to hold such a position anywhere else. Their job is to be unbiased and uphold the law. That means you also have to protect those you might disagree with... or even hate.

I don't think AOC is unAmerican, I don't agree her policies, that said, it was foolish of those officers to publicly state such things, they should know better.
