A major developing the Durham investigation has moved from an administrative investigation into a criminal investigation. This means they have found crimes. This means he can subpoena witnesses and documents and seat a grand jury. This has to do with the start of the Trump collusion investigation. Lots high pucker factor going on in DC tonight.

"The Justice Department has reportedly opened a criminal investigation into its own Russia probe The New York Times reports.

The New York news source reports that after former special counsel Robert S. Mueller III closed the official investigation months ago, a new criminal inquiry will proceed to find out how the investigation of Russian interference into the 2016 presidential election and Trump's alleged collusion with Russia "all began."

Attorney General Bill Barr has closely reviewed how the department handled the Russia investigation. But shifting the administrative review to a criminal inquiry would allow the prosecutor presiding over the inquiry, John H. Durham, to subpoena for witness testimony and documents, people familiar with the matter told The Times.

It would also enable Durham, a U.S. attorney appointed by Barr to lead the inquiry, to put together a grand jury and to file charges."

And high on his list will be Brennan, Clapper and Comey.

The thread is about to be flooded with libs' posts stating that "nobody is above the law" and "if they are innocent, they should welcome the investigation"... Or not?

    LOL

I just read the NYT response to this story and they are already this is Trump using the DOJ as his personal attack dog. So satisfying it is.

““nobody is above the law" and "if they are innocent, they should welcome the investigation”” and fully comply with all subpoenas

Now we just need you to say it.

Nobody is above the law.... the second sentence is idiotic liberal demagoguery so I am not saying it.

But I can bet in 2 hours you and your leftist ilk will be arguing the opposite of what you just said, so will you.

I’ll repeat what I said in the other thread about this, That there’s even a suggestion or a hint that there might be something untoward regarding the Russia hoax only cements that it was a hoax.

No bet, but the moment you start bleating that Durham investigation is illegitimate, an act of revenge etc, you'll be going back on your promise. I don't need a bet now that you've promised to behave and I will just keep reminding you if you don't LOL

Let's start working on this together...

Just moments ago your buddies Naddler and POSchiff declared that Durham is conducting retribution on Trump's behalf.

Do you agree that they are both lying scumbags, that nobody is above the law and that those under investigation should welcome it if they are not innocent? Looking forward to your reply, partner LOL

So they have granted Durham subpoena power? Probably because all those CIA folks sprinted for lawyers as soon as he asked to speak with them.

BARR/DURHAM PROBE NOW A CRIMINAL INQUIRY: Sundance on The Last Refuge explains what may well be the beginning of the end for any number of folks who have been spinning tall tales since November 2016.

The Justice Department has opened a criminal investigation into how it all began.

Justice Department officials have shifted an administrative review of the Russia investigation closely overseen by Attorney General William P. Barr to a criminal inquiry. This gives the prosecutor running it, John H. Durham, the power to subpoena for witness testimony and documents, to impanel a grand jury and to file criminal charges.

Mr. Durham, a widely respected and veteran prosecutor has investigated C.I.A. torture and broken up Mafia rings.

Federal investigators need only a “reasonable indication” that a crime has been committed to open an investigation, a much lower standard than the probable cause required to obtain search warrants.

Mr. Barr began the administrative review of the Russia investigation in May after conversations with intelligence and law enforcement officials led him to believe that the F.B.I. acted improperly, if not unlawfully.

The F.B.I. opened the investigation in late July 2016, code-named Crossfire Hurricane, after receiving information from the Australian government that a Trump campaign adviser had been approached with an offer of stolen emails that could damage Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

The “offer” was from Joseph Mifsud, who we know is not a Russian intelligence operative, but a western intelligence operative under the guiding control of the CIA. The “discovery” part was the report of that activity by Australian diplomat Alexander Downer.

The CIA ran an operation using Mifsud to place information into Papadopoulos, a classic set-up, and the FBI is now claiming they had no idea the CIA was the originating intelligence apparatus for that information.

F.B.I. agents’ views on Russia’s election interference operation crystallized by mid-August, after the C.I.A. director at the time, John O. Brennan, shared "intelligence" with Mr. Comey about it.
The CIA produced an “electronic communication” (EC) to the FBI which officially launched the premise of operation “crossfire hurricane’. That EC has never been released, though it has been seen by congressional investigators.

The C.I.A. contributed heavily to the intelligence community’s assessment in early 2017 that Russia interfered in the 2016 election. Law enforcement officials later used those findings to bolster their application to spy on Trump campaign adviser, Carter Page.

The CIA was the driving force behind the January 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) and Peter Strzok was one of the primary authors. How a January 2017 ICA could be used to bolster the application for the Carter Page FISA, when the FISA warrant was granted on October 21st, 2016 has not been explained by the Fake News NY Times.

Mr. Barr is closely managing the Durham investigation, traveling to Italy to seek help from officials there to run down the conspiracy that is at the heart of the Russia Collusion claims. Mr. Barr has also contacted government officials in Britain and Australia about their roles in the early stages of the Russia investigation.

Mr. Durham has asked whether C.I.A. officials tricked the F.B.I. into opening the Russia investigation.

Mr. Durham wants to interview former officials who ran the C.I.A. in 2016 Mr. Brennan and James R. Crapper Jr., the former director of national intelligence.

C.I.A. officials have retained criminal lawyers in anticipation of being interviewed.

They were suppose to release the report last Friday, then it was said it will be delayed two weeks. Does this mean they will not release the report until the criminal investigation is completed? They need to make public what criminal acts they are investigating, that should throw the Dems off balance and force them to stop putting 100% of their efforts into attacking Trump.

Given that it's Comey, Clapper, Brennan, Strzok and his mistress, McCabe who are lawyering up, we at the very least know who this news is NOT good for. ;)

In May Barr testifies that he will open the investigation, in July Mueller testified, killing any hope of impeachment on his investigation...before the months out Shifty’s former aid is contacting his office to create a WB complaint

The DOJ could open a criminal referral into a ham sandwich.

The fact that they didn't open a criminal investigation into the WB complaint tells everybody all they need to know about this particular iteration of the DOJ...
