A SCOTUS designed to favor the rights of business of the rights of individual citizens? They sure did.
Harm is often determined and defined by elitists who don't gain a right that is perceived due in their own eyes.
Beasts will often consent and the dead is merely physical matter with less rights than an unborn baby. You remain on the slippery slope.
Your understanding of the differences between men and women and their respective contributions to raising a child, seems to end with their "genitals". You say the differences are "not so great". Perhaps you feel those differences are overcome by human manipulation such as "reorientation education" or "genital mutilation" or "hormonal therapy". Perhaps it is your goal to educate the culture in your view of what family is to be.
There are absolute values that never change.Mankind was able to overcome the effects of gravity with the invention of the airplane, however when it runs out of fuel, it drops like a rock. Cultures have experimented with the family structure since the beginning of time and cultures have decayed and gone by the wayside. In Ecclesiastes Solomon exclaimed he had experimented and tried everything and there is "nothing new under the sun"......"all is vanity". And in your vanity you seem to think "we have come a long way".....Ha!
Amen to that. No one has even tried to eradicate their behavior. They just want to be acknowledged as acceptable partakers.
If I kill someone who has not wronged me, did I do harm? Is the fact that I did harm only determined by the elite?
If you want to make an argument for sexual contact with dead bodies and animals, be my guest. Argument for one thing is not argument for another, regardless of what you personally believe it could lead to.
Was the opinions of biblical figures meant to prove a point or be in some way relevant to the social structure of today? If that was the case it missed its mark.
No sir, I'm alluding to going too far and going over the edge. The slope would be vertical and unacceptable.
If the individual wanted to discriminate as an individual, that would be their right. If the individual uses their business to discriminate in the face of public accommodation laws they break the law. The fact that the SCOTUS protected his actions as artistic expression is just mental gymnastics.
Maybe you should just read what I said and take it at face value.. No disembodied entity bakes the cake, people do. People own and operate business and some of them have strongly held religious beliefs that they will not violate. If you run into one of those just find another bakery. You can't go to Chic-fil-a on Sunday either.
Okay, I will take your words as they are. Of course people own and operate their businesses. Of course they are free to have strongly held religious beliefs. Those beliefs however do not allow them to violate the law. Using your business, a place of public accommodation, to discriminate against others in an area with public accommodation laws is a violation of the law. I personally would be more than happy to seek a different establishment that didn’t hate me, but I won’t fault those who seek to shine light on wrongdoing. And Chick-Fil-A is free to set its business hours as it pleases. Closing your business on any given day is not discrimination. Discrimination would be if they were open on Sunday but refused service to anyone who did not profess a faith in God.
Settled issue in the eyes of the courts, yes. I’m unaware of any new laws as a result. I disagree with the court’s opinion.
God has instilled in every human being the wisdom between right and wrong, light and darkness. To many, that is evidence of God's existence. At the same time and according to the Law of Love, God has granted every human being the right to choose the wisdom he/she will accept. Murder is a very easy concept to accept. We don't kill often because we don't want to be killed. We also know children need a Mom and a Dad to love and to nurture. That is wisdom a little easier to deny because the consequences are a little further down the road. It is obvious in our culture that there are many that deny that. It is much easier to twist the Truth into a lie and blame the consequences onto something else. It is a matter of introspect and seeking.
The point is today is no different than yesterday. Some things come around full circle. Your precepts it seems, change like the wind....from one generation to another.
