I already asked you this, you did not answer, why? Meth is commonly made with fertilizer, lithium batteries, lye, coleman fuel, starter fluid, etc. You doubt it harms the unborn? Look what it does to the living...
At eight months gestational age It's a baby. Calling the child "foetus" is just a way to de-personalize her. This was a still born child, whatever word you want to use to decry that fact does not make it a less so. imo.
I use the correct medical terminology - foetus n unborn or unhatched offspring of a mammal, in particular an unborn human more than eight weeks after conception. You can complain when I use the term “decanted embryo” instead of “baby”
It is required in every situation because for all you know she might have been fed that meth by the baby daddy or it could be placental abruption or any one of a myriad of factors that cause stillbirth
It doesn't matter. The intent to do something that would cause severe endangerment was there, and the child did end up suspiciously dying (which is not as common in the last stages of pregnancy). Anyone with even a bit of common sense knows there was a 90+% chance it was the meth that was responsible. There is an obvious likely connection. She grossly endangered her child, and the child died, probably as a result of her actions.
Do you have proof absolute that the Meth caused the death? Lots of deaths are caused every year by Dihydrogen monoxide but you would be pushed to prove that it was responsible for a death without definitive evidence
90% is not 100% and let’s look at the bigger picture. Every time these sorts of laws have been brought in it is accompanied with a rise in infant and maternal mortality
Imagine I want to poison someone, write up a plan on paper that I'm going to do it, buy some poison, and the person ends up dying because he was poisoned. But then I argue "How do you know it was really me responsible for the death? It might have been the butler. He also had a reason to kill the victim, and it might have been him who poisoned the victim! He could have gotten to the victim before I did, and so ultimately I might not be responsible." That type of ludicrous argument is basically what I'm hearing from you.
yeah, I'm sure the meth really helped the baby...Ask any Doctor, they will tell you it's a great, prenatal supplement...
Do you have proof and I mean court level proof that the meth was responsible ? Taking too much dihydrogen monoxide could also cause foetal death
Yes, it's called the Pro-Choice position. Her body. Hardly surprising that Pro-Choice ideology would lead them to think the way they do about this story. After all, the baby while it is inside the womb is expendable.
Realistically, no court in the US is going to require more proof to hold her responsible for the death. This isn't like an ordinary murder case. She was causing clear endangerment, and it's very likely her actions were the cause of the death. And to top it all off, what she did that caused that endangerment was itself classified as a felony by the law. (Due to the felony murder legal doctrine, that carries a tremendous amount of weight)
No one is advocating drug use during pregnancy. Or justifying it. Debating Murder charges for a still birth is the topic.
Where have I or anyone else advocated taking meth? But I unlike others who just want to “punish” someone have read the concerns, the reports and the research written by those working in the field and know that prosecuting cases like this leads to a rise in infant and maternal mortality
I don’t tolerate personal attacks but I will give you a pass this once In not one of those posts do I advocate either “murdering the unborn” or to administration of a possible teratogenic substance
It is not a personal attack. That's the attitude of the progressive feminists today. It's probably why women are far more likely to abuse children these days than in the past. There's an assumption that women should have a free pass on pretty much anything. It's ok to murder a man if they are in the slightest abusive, abortions for fun etc. All I know is that the women I respected and looked up to growing up are shortening in numbers. My grandmothers would be horrified on what women have become. Taking illegal substances which kill your baby is manslaughter at the very least, absolutely no questions asked.
"After an autopsy was completed by the coroner’s office, it was determined by authorities that the death was a homicide due to the fatal levels of methamphetamine that the fetus was exposed to." https://www.fox5dc.com/news/woman-c...-in-system-of-stillborn-fetus-authorities-say
