France is a sovereign state, like Pennsylvania. The purpose of a body like the senate is to play a role in a treaty between several sovereign states. There would be no reason for France to need a senate.

Then there would be no United States. I suppose you prefer the Articles of Confederation?

Correction. A union of 50 sovereign states.

What a bland sense of humour!

Well, if all these EC-members had numbers perhaps it would be easier for dolts like me to vote for them ... !

Yes, the system of choosing the president, in which each state gets a number of votes equal to the sum of its senators and house members is definitely unequal. Just in the same way that the senate is unequal. However, these were the terms the sovereign states agreed to in order to form their union.

If you think that 37 of the states will agree to abolishing the unequal senate and the unequal system of the states choosing the president, then feel free to push for such an amendment.

A single nation? Is that what the constitution says? Where does it say that?

Which is even more grossly unequal than what we have now.

So you're against affirmative action as well as being against the senate. Fascinating.

Unequal? 1 state, 1 vote. What could be more equal than that?

It does not matter how many times you insist on being wrong. The citizens of every state cotes for the president in each presidential election. Almost 130 million voted for president in 2016.

The US wouldn’t have been founded as it is. Today, the EC is obsolete, and has proven detrimental twice this century alone.

By "obsolete", I take it to mean "I don't like it".

All you need are 37 of the several sovereign states to amend the treaty to modify the current system of choosing the president. Good luck!

No I’m against affirmative action. 2 senators to represent 500,000 and 2 senators to represent 12 million is grossly unequal.

You can't prove that. Go ahead and try. I'll wait.

But instead I meant exactly what I said.

it won’t be long. At some point in the near future republicans will win the popular vote and lose the election, and they will clamor to remove the EC, like trump did.

And they'll just need 37 states to agree to reduce their political power.

Ok. Which state law over rules a federal law?

You were jabbering on about how the constitution says that we're a nation. Can't support your argument.
