Now we get to see that this impeachment is just for show. They were in a so much of a hurry Schiff couldn't take the time to take enforce their own subpoenas because Trump was such a danger to national security. Now that they have their "peachment" they don't know what to do with it.

Some months back I linked and posted the appropriations bill specific to the Ukraine and the military aid in question. I suggest you find the same. You'll see, as I and others have pointed out repeatedly, the final disposition of any military aid is at the discretion of the executive branch.

It can be no other way. War and armed conflict create fluid and dynamic environments. Instantaneous change is the order of the day, the constant. The ability to change, terminate or redirect military forces must reside in a command structure that can act in a moment's notice, not in a legislative body.

To deny those funds through the OMB as he did he has to justify it, No evidence of pilfering of the funds, no sign of Ukraine using the weapons on our allies and no signs of the weapons being sold on the black market. The DoD had already certified that Ukraine had met it's end of the bargain so Trump had no legal grounds to prevent the funds being used.

 

Release of military aid requires concurrence of the DoD and State.

 

This is about pushing a strategy that could very much force impeachment to hurt trump at the polls.

Consider this possibility: John Bolton appears to testify and says, "Yes, trump ordered all the military aid to be withheld until Ukraine agrees to announce these investigations."

Would your opinion of trump shift? My guess is that a significant percentage of Republican Senators definitely would.

 

Dems took the House because Republicans failed to make even a token showing of holding Trump to account.

 

If this strategy results in someone like Bolton testifying that "Yes, Trump did order the money withheld until Ukraine agreed to announce those investigations," then holding the impeachment definitely resulted in hurting trump very, very much.
