I think it has been BLARING apparent of both sides especially the Democrats, they have had their minds made up for 3 years that somehow they would remove him from office. This has all been an exercise in futility as was the Russian collusion thingy.

Speaker Pelosi invites President Trump to deliver State of the Union on February 4

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has invited President Donald Trump to deliver the State of the Union address on February 4, 2020.

"In the spirit of respecting our Constitution, I invite you to deliver your State of the Union address before a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 in the Chamber of the U.S. House of Representatives," Pelosi wrote in a letter addressed to the President dated Friday.
The invitation from Pelosi comes just days after the House of Representatives took the historic step of voting to impeach Trump, a move that has led to an escalation of partisan tensions on Capitol Hill.

Pelosi has just invited Trump to give the SOTU address... I sometimes feel I'm living in surreal times.

Is she off her rocker, or what? :buggered:

The GOP frivolously impeached Clinton for a consensual blowjob so doing it again would negate whatever shreds of credibility might remain.

I am sure that Pence will be able to substitute for your IBLOTUS if he can't make that date.

Clinton was impeached for lying under oath, it again would negate whatever shreds of credibility might remain.

    What was Clinton lying about?

    A consensual blowjob, right?

Ergo he was frivolously impeached by the GOP for a consensual blowjob.

This could be a signal that she isn't going to hand over the impeachment articles to the Senate by this time....Just how long is she going to hold onto them? Doesn't she realize that this is going to hurt the Dems? Is she wanting that? I'm pretty sure that they do have an expiration date...ending when a new Congress is put in place....

I'm wondering when you're going to stop spreading that lie. And you know its a lie, which means that you are lying.

She really had no choice. The optics of trying to sabotage it again like she did before during "the shutdown" would just be too damaging after all the impeachment crap. It's her job to invite the POTUS to give the SOTUA, and Nancy realizes that after all the pointless drama and shenanigans, she really needs to start doing her job.

Speaking of optics, how effective is the impeachment going to look when Trump is up on the dais behind the Presidential seal, addressing the nation as POTUS, bragging about all the winning, scolding the Dems like naughty they're school children, and Nancy and her pack of flying monkeys can do nothing but zip their lips, glower at him, and take it?

Why, people might just look at it all and ask "What the Hell did all that impeachment crap accomplish?"

And that'll be a darned good question.

Good question. Either way, Trump is here to stay and Pelosi probably realizes she' still needs to create an appearance of working with the White House.

You have no idea how much I would enjoy watching your IMPOTUS ranting and raving at the SOTU about being impeached.

His partisan supporters on the right can echo all his mindless chants so that he gets the feedback he lusts after.

That spectacle will provide more than enough evidence for the voters to ensure that he is EVICTED from the Oval office come November.

Didn't see that in the articles of impeachment, I did see perjury, suborning perjury, and obstruction, among other things.

No, not GOP. The impeachment vote, as well as the Senate vote, were bi-partisan.

Was the three-ring circus to impeach President Trump bi-partisan? Noooo, but the vote not to impeach President Trump was :D
