I sometimes wonder what it would be like to move to Germany, and live in Bad Schandau, or somewhere south and east of Dresden, but I'm too old and too "Ami" to start over. This is exactly the kind of sentiment that pushes Germans and many others in Europe away from us today. Russia suffered far more from the Nazi invaders than any other country in the world, but today Russia offers Germany cordial friendship and mutually-beneficial business relationships. We give the Germans Richard Grenell, who goes out of his way to rub their noses in sh*t every chance he gets!

We Americans completely ignore the huge costs Germany has had to bear in the 'reunification' that greatly benefited all of 'the West', from Warsaw all the way to the Atlantic Ocean, along with bearing the costs for infrastructure needed to make Germany THE east-west corridor for the entire EU.

Yes, Germany should pay more for their participation in NATO, but perhaps other NATO countries should help pay for highways, railroad lines, and airports in Germany that bear the heavy burden for all the increased traffic and commerce since the fall of the Soviet Union.

The last 'Defense Minister' in Germany, Ursula von der Leyen, left Germany's Bundeswehr in a miserable, deteriorated, impoverished MESS. Germany has a heavy load to bear, and in a country where radical Leftists who hate their own country have a lot of power. Does that sound familiar...?

I lived in Bavaria for a few years back in the early 90’s. Other than visiting concentration camps and places we targeted during WWII, I didn’t particularly care for the place or the people.
I wouldn’t go back there on an all expenses paid vacation if it were offered. Been there, done that....not impressed.

I believe its quite arrogant that you obviously expect someone visiting your country has automaticly to like it.

I did not like it. I liked the Grand Canyon and the giant trees, beside that i was not impressed. Cities were not the standard we have here.

You understand what i mean. The economic and political power has such extreme density in Germany, that Russia as an entity would collapse when it would try to conquer Germany.

For the same reason, the EU doesnt work. Germany has too much power concentrated on the center of Europe. Its not that Greece or Italy are lazy. They simply are stuck in the german gravity well. Before the Euro, they could undervalue their currency and gain velocity, which gave them additional speed to work against the gravitational pull of Germany. By introducing the € they basicly lost that ability and now are pulled down.

They get poorer and poorer. All investment is sucked towards Germany. It creates the most absurde and bizarre effects. Like negative state bonds. People actually pay Germany money so it accepts their investment. Thats against any economic theory.

Putin is not an idiot. He doesnt want Germany as "province", He is well aware that this would destroy Russia. What he wants is a German - Russian alliance. Something i see as positive. German economic might and russian rescources are quite promising.

 

Just goes to show how utterly ridiculous and removed from reality the Germans are.

 

Perhaps but I don't see Putin as wanting to put Russia into a position where its natural resources would be plundered by Germany.
