I notice that ''climate change nutters starting fires'' has been removed from the title now.
Although the group insult is still in the first post with zero evidence that a single fire has been started by climate change activists.

Always been that way. I was a prison officer at Pentridge Jail Melbourne in 1977-1980. Nothing has changed in the severity of sentencing since then. As a rough guide USA sentences are about double the length of Aussie periods.

You’re welcome to that opinion. I’m of the opinion that prisoners are still humans, and treating them as such yields better results when they get out (assuming we’re not talking solely about life sentences).

I’d be interested in stats on incarceration/recidivism rates versus the US.

Might be something about cruel and unusual punishment in their I guess.
I still think it’s a matter of maximizing profits.

With summer temps hitting 120 and sand temps near 160 they’ll definitely be blowing something.

I don't think providing shelter food and drink for life in exchange for work is cruel or unusual.

I agree if True they should be in prison, i also agree that climate change set the conditions to allow this burn to happen, regardless of the cause of what ignited it originally, so both are ture

It might be if they don’t have a choice on the matter. I’m sure they’d leave if anyone let them.

If you think that hot and dry conditions caused all this carnage, let me ask you one simple question.....Why the hell doesn't the interior of Australia burn down every damn year? Why aren't there any fires there now?

Because 1 degree temperature change isn't the cause of the fires nor is it 'climate change'. It's the damn nutters and random negligence....

I read that when schools are out in Australia there are more fires, so many are caused by young people. I'm sure there are other groups that are not being mentioned. I know the fires in Greece would break out in masse on August 15 (a religious holiday), and when the trade winds would start blowing after a hot dry summer.

Many of the fires were on islands located only a few miles off the Turkish coast, and yet they weren't breaking out in Turkey. (Same climate, same trade winds). Of course the people know its sabotage, and the intent was to hurt the economy, but the government never emphasized it for political reasons.

There is something else though, and Australia should check into it. When the fires were going on in California, Dutchsense, an amateur geologist who has been correctly predicting earthquakes, (and freaking out the geologists who said they can't be predicted), noticed on the newer satellite photos, that certain areas on the West coast that were showing up red on the photos, would break out with fires the next day. These hot spots were usually located near volcanic fields.

Frankly I think our earth is heating up, and it's causing the change in our climate. The government though won't tell us these things, for fear people might start moving away from certain areas. They are not moving, but a lot of industries are locating elsewhere - especially those around Seattle where it's prone to a tidal wave.
