There is a growing belief that Democrats could run a chimpanzee against Trump and win. I don't think so. So, what about Bernie? I confess, I have a little trouble wrapping my arms around Bernie. To me, the question is not "what if Bernie gets the nomination," but, "what if he doesn't?" That's a big hand grenade the Dems must not drop.

Look at a Bernie rally and you see a mass of way enthusiastic young voters. That demographic has become a substantial block that Democrats must turn out at the polls. What's the math in that? It appears if Bernie gets the nomination he will have a huge cadre of energetic young people to turn loose in a ground game. The rest of Democrats would crawl through rusty razor blades to get to the polls and vote Trump out.

It's a helluva predicament and the Democrats are keenly aware of what happened when Hillary maneuvered Bernie off the ticket in 2016. It looks like it will boil down to Bernie, Biden, and Bloomberg for Super Tuesday. Buttigieg, Warren, and Klobuchar look gone.

Trump thinks Bernie will be a pushover in the debates. I'm not so sure. Bernie has a fiery temper and a potty mouth to go with it. He hates Trump's guts and wants to flay him alive. Then again viv-a-vis debates, who gives a damn this time around?

Does this make me a Bernie fan? No but I am interested in what happens next.

It will be interesting that's for sure, I'm content to see what the hell happens on Super Tuesday, all the speculation should begin to clear up once we see multiple candidates drop out

Is that like saying "I've got a pen and a phone" if the Congress doesn't give you what you want?

Yeah, agreed about Joe, Mike and Bern. It is a 3-Person race.

In a strange twist of fate, Biden has been given life by the Bloomberg.

Joe may be more acceptable to anybody who doesn't want Bernie, but has a real problem with a billionaire "buying in".

We've had a war over the government trying to step in and control our rights. It didn't work then, it won't work now.

Right? But that's how it should be. I'd love to watch the democrat reaction if we won an election the same way they did in 1992 and 1996. If not for Perot, the 80's, 90's, and first decade of 2000 would have been a Republican president.

It’ also worthwhile to note that if Bernie polls 31% for him, that means 69% do not want him.

Can you also point to a list of 2000 former DOJ officials calling for Obama's AG to resign because of the efforts taken by the AG to subvert the rules of law?

And the public decisions by Trump's AG is the reason why 2000 such officials called for his resignation.

They do take the initial authority granted to them and expand it to the point where they no longer "need" democratic elections, buddy.

I think Bloomberg should run as a Republican if he really wants to defeat Trump.

And it perfectly within his power to do so...so said the Courts....that's not a sign of a dictator

He has expressed his opinion on an overly harsh sentence, and pushed for criminal justice reform, including reviewing the sentencin guidelines. Giving citizens reasonable sentencong and keep them out of prisons his the opposite of a dictator.

    ...college?

Sure, but there is little reason to doubt the speed at which those revelations became news cycles and the timing of his rise in the polls.

Democratic voters do show a willingness to react to strong or weak debate performances. See Klobuchar's strong 3rd place performance in NH on the back of her strong performance in the debate.

I see very little reason why Democrats would be instructed to hold off from attacking Bloomberg given the very, very real threat that Trump will not refuse to attack the democratic nominee on any grounds - even going so far as to call Bloomberg racist for a policy that Trump very publicly and prominently and recently applauded.

    Exactly.

And, that is the big flaw in Bernie's "If I am leading the delegate count (even with a pluralty) I deserve the Nom" mindset.

Consider it an easy win for Trump assuming no disasters occur this year that would convince people we need a socialist/communist at the helm.

The Supreme Court has not ruled on Trump's decision to declare national emergency or his ability to subvert Congress' authority over the purse strings outside of a ruling to stop the injunction.

And it is not "citizens" that get the leniency of Trump's DOJ personal intervention, it is Trump's associates that get that type of personal intervention. That is what a Dictator does.

Please could you link me to where Trump has cancelled elections? As far as I am aware, you have one in November, pal.

Cancelling the election is the final step. We are concerned about stopping well before we get to that point, bro.

Are you suggesting any time Congressional approved funding is repurposed its "subverting Congressional authority"?

Don't act like you're unaware of the fact that anyone who dared go against obama or his people were called out in the media and had their careers threatened or ruined for being "racist."

Double standards worked for y'all for about 6 of your 8 years, but cost you in the end.

It just amazes me how far left the Democrat party has gone since JFK.

JFK gave us some of the largest corporate/personal tax cuts, was an NRA member and was pro-life.
