The Mississippi Republican Party is welcoming some new members and all of them were elected public offices as Democrats or Independents in this most recent election cycle. The Mississippi Republican Party Chairman says he doesn’t expect this will be the last time they are welcoming new members to the GOP.

...“We are in a scenario in this country where you can choose to be a member of the party led by Donald J. Trump or you can choose to be a member of the socialist Democratic party led by Bernie Sanders,” noted Governor Tate Reeves.

Mississippi is a conservative state but there seems to be a political realignment happening across the nation.

The DNC is in a tight spot because many of the seats it picked up in 2018 were with moderates-but a moderate isn't winning the democrat primaries.

Bernie Sanders is also off putting to many older Dems, who want nothing to do with socialism, and who perhaps understand that a socialist POTUS would be catastrophic to the economy and investments.

The DNC is losing power to both Republicans, and radical socialists.

There is nothing moderate about today's DNC. It is being overtaken by radicals and extremists. Their base cheers at every hint of more free sh*t, but they forget reasonable people know somebody has to pay for the free sh*t, and if you're not the one receiving it you're probably the one paying for it. That surely doesn't sit well with moderate Democrats any better than it sits with moderate Independents or with Republicans.

    Agree fully.

And the Dems are freaking out...

2 Florida Democrats sue to keep Sanders off primary ballot

In a lawsuit filed Monday in circuit court in Leon County, the plaintiffs ask that Sanders be disqualified from the Democratic primary because he’s a declared independent.

When I see person after person like James Carville express extreme concern I wonder why the more extreme left choose to ignore the warning signs and continue to spout petty ignorant idiocy rather than try to address the concerns. In my whole life I have never seen as many Democrat strategists and politicians express so much concern about the socialist members of the party screwing up the elections. I have never seen so much infighting in their party.

If these people didn't believe in the democratic party then they shouldn't have run as democrats.

Even though I'm a Republican I don't need these spineless self-serving politicians in my party. As soon as the wind blows in the other direction they'll be gone.

It is a bizarre spectacle. The other day Chris Mathews said that Democrats should vote for Trump over Sanders.

James Carville pulling out of the DNC is huge.....he knows the party has completely shifted away from where it once was, and no longer represents American values.

We have a center-right party and a radical socialist party. The center-left has disappeared.

    Poof! Gone!

The Carville Axiom, "It's the economy stupid," used to be a good axiom. Now it's anathema among democrats.

I would say I'm surprised that democrats haven't figured out yet that they're pushing their people away, but I'm not surprised at all. They've led their party into the emotional pits of hell because 2016 was supposed to be theirs. They worked with foreign agents to win and it had already been promised to them, but they lost anyways. That's why they immediately turned to Russian collusion.

And how many times have they circled back to Russia? I think we are at round 3.

It gets even worse-Democrats are trying to get Bernie off of the ballot in Florida, and also to not have any early votes for him counted.

So they are pushing away "moderate" dems AND the socialists.

In their minds, if Russian collusion didn't help them win then it HAD to help Trump win. They can't grasp the fact that a Republican candidate can win fair and square, especially over their party. It's that kind of pompous attitude that started their 100 MPH drive over the cliff.

Good flush out the blue dog democrats out into the open. It will help the voters to identify traitors to the party before they get swept away by the coming Blue Wave. Only real Democrats, please. :)

Sanders will set back the democrats even worse than Obama set back race relations. Has anyone seen how Sanders wants to pay for all his free stuff? Add in the cost of fighting global warming and the country doesn't have enough to pay for it, yet the hard core progressives appear to be too ignorant to see that.

In their eyes they're looking at this for the long haul. The Progressive base lies in the young demographic mainly the college aged folks and primarily those under the age of 30. This is the transition period for the Democrat Party that isn't going to change overnight but gradually shift into the Progressive Party filled with current young folks who will maintain that position for the next few decades. They aren't too concerned with the older more traditional Democrats as evidenced by the current Progressive Democrats attacking any and everyone who isn't as far Left as they are. And that includes moderate Democrats which are mostly the older crowd.

They believe with enough time their movement will take on a greater effect in America. Colleges are pumping out Progressives at a much faster rate than any other demographic and as the elderly more traditionalist folks die off, whether they be Democrat or Republican, the Progressive young folks will fill these ranks. That's betting on the fact that these new Progressive kids will remain Progressive for life, or at least long enough to reestablish the traditional Democrat Party with a new Progressive Party.

Dems used to claim to be a "big tent" party.

I guess thats over, and the party feels it needs yet another challenge in an election year.
