That's called being prepared just in case. Y'all are acting like it's already an outbreak because 0.00001% of America is infected. If you don't see the difference between preparation and panic then I can't help you.

It's been out there for over a month now. Can you tell me how long it takes to start showing symptoms after contact? That would be a big difference maker, because if it's less than a month and only 1/100,000th of the American population is infected then I'd say we're in pretty good shape, just stay out of San Francisco, 28 of the 60 patients are located there.

What did he say that he knew nothing about? He didn't get into any of the details. You obviously didn't watch the press conferene, because you had no idea he referred to the Doctors.

So are you just talking about something you know nothing about? Clearly

But here is the transcript...show me what you are talking about: https://www.rev.com/blog/transcript...script-trump-and-cdc-give-coronavirus-updates

And after a month in a country 330 million strong, only 60 people have it.

What more do you need to know so you don't panic?

Do I believe which part? I 100% do not believe it's a pandemic or heading towards one. It's a new virus we don't know much about. It's good to be cautious and prepared, but there's no need to start heading for the hills unless you're in southern CA.

    The question was...

Do you believe the mortality rate is 2%?

    Because I dont.

Yeah, if we rolled the clock back to 2016. Would a mild recession do that? We haven't had one in so long, I forget what they're like.

“Well I don’t think it’s inevitable,” Trump said when asked by Fox News reporter Kristin Fisher about the CDC’s warning the virus will definitely spread. “It probably will. It possibly will. It could be at a very small level or it could be at a larger level. Whatever happens we’re totally prepared,” Trump continued. “We have the best people in the world. You see that from the study. We have the best prepared people, the best people in the world. Congress is willing to give us much more than we’re even asking for. That’s nice for a change. But we are totally ready, willing and able. It’s a term we use. It’s ready, willing and able. It’s going to be very well-under control. Now, it may get bigger, it may get a little bigger, it may not get bigger at all. Whatever happens, we’re totally prepared.”

Would you tell the truth knowing it would create nationwide panic?

These things get more worrisome as I age but the reality is some things are outside of our control and just have to be accepted. It is strange that this crap comes from the city where the Chinese develop their germ warfare elements. Even stranger there is no talk of it in any media. I guess nobody with any similar research facilities wants to throw the first stone. That would pretty much cover all governments. **** happens.

I am not quite sure what you have a problem with there? When he said he wasn't sure what was gonna happen, highlighted we were prepared for whatever, and then referred to the fact we have the best people in the world working on it?

The Left expects the President to toe the CDC's line.

Do you really think that's an unrealistic expectation? That the CDC and the President be on the same page? No, you don't, because that's what happens in normally functioning countries.

It's not the same old, same old. I'm in my mid-40's. I've never seen school closures for a disease outbreak, outside of some small rural districts that were hit hard by the flu. The CDC told us yesterday that's exactly what we should prepare for.

“Ultimately, we expect we will see community spread in this country,” Messonnier said. “It’s not so much a question of if … but rather more a question of exactly when this will happen and how many people in this country will have severe illness.”

She cited three forms of “nonpharmaceutical interventions that can be applied during a pandemic of a respiratory disease to lessen the spread of an illness. These include the personal steps of staying home if you’re sick; the community actions of closing schools or canceling large gatherings of people; and the environmental approach of routinely cleaning surfaces.

Think of how fast it would have spread by now if it was as contagious as you say it is, and not contained. I'm not trying to argue with you, I just want you to look at it from a different angle.

what was the drivel? Where he said we were prepared, we had the best people working on it, or when he referred to the experts?

They said it was inevitable. Trump said it may or may not be, and that Congress is ready to fund whatever is necessary to fight it. He didn't contradict the CDC, therefore you would have done exactly what Trump did and you hate him too much to realize it.

Yeah, that was probably being said by S. Koreans, Japanese, and Italians two weeks ago.

Explain your thought-process, please: why do you think America will be immune/insulated from a disease that is currently wreaking havoc around the world? Do you think our CDC is overreacting? Market traders? S. Korean govt? Chinese govt.? Italian govt.?

Your position is totally irrational, but I'm curious as to HOW you're coming to these irrational conclusions. Are you just being contrary?

Well that's too bad. Where is your proof that it will absolutely, 100% without a doubt spread and become disruptive? You're going to take one person's word over the other because you hate one of the two.
