This is a serious problem given short shrift by most. If I can call constitutional conservatism the opposite of progressivism the salient example of your point was the Tea Party wresting political power from the Democrats in 2010. They gave Boehner the Speakership and he in turn became dedicated to destroying true conservatives in the House. Plus McConnell works as hard to primary conservatives out of existence as he does "fighting" liberalism.

You cannot 'unite' with those who are trying to destroy you. You can only submit to their tyranny, or resist them.

That is the nature of an enemy. They make peaceful coexistence impossible, as their agenda is the destruction of America.

There are 2 basic types, of progressive enemies of America:

1. Unwitting dupes. Useful idiots, who have been 'programmed', from infancy to hate America and all She stands for.
2. Progressive ideologues. They are committed to the anti-American agenda, and use any means to their end of destruction. They lie, disseminate propaganda, foment sedition, and are actively treasonous in their attacks on American freedom.

Most progressive indoctrinees are in the #1 category. They think Progressivism is 'cool', and believe a collectivist fantasy can actually work, even though every attempt in the history of mankind has led to despotism and oppression.

This is a time for Americans to unite against a common enemy that is bent on our destruction. It is not a time to pacify, or try to accomodate those who want to dismantle the only successful Experiment in self rule, in the history of humanity.

I provided facts and evidence of the progressive infiltration of an anti-American agenda. You dismissed those facts as 'opinions!'. I quoted from the OP, where this tactic of progressive deflection is used, and you deflect more, with a straw man of my point.

Progressive indoctrinees are not rational debaters, but agenda driven ideologues, twisting everything and spinning the facts to distract while they work tirelessly for the destruction of America, and implement their socialist fantasies.

The goal is to muddy and confuse, until their control is complete. THEN they can use the power of the State to control and manipulate us with no definitional deflections.

Perhaps you missed the point there. They are referring to progressive's love of big government. This is the opposite of how the founders set this nation up. They believed in individual freedom not big government, hence, a decentralized government with states and separation of powers in the branches of our federal government. How can you not get that?

 

Government has grown just as much under the Republicans - just different departments. Homeland Security with its 250,000 employees was a child of the Republicans (the National debt grew 101% under Bush - 89% under Obama).

And the Founders were split as to the roll of government - just read about the arguments between Hamilton and Jefferson. And Jefferson and Adams.

 

That's a pretty broad statement; can you elaborate more on Stalin, Mao & Pol Pot for us?
