Whoever he picks will likely be president before 2024 if Biden wins. Biden would get taken down "respectfully" for inability to serve a full term. Democrats are chomping at the bit to be the party of the first female president in history.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Biden pick Stacy Abrams.

Women won't. And Biden already carries the minority attraction. But actually, for political purposes, prefer Warren for the job. She holds appeal for some otherwise disgruntled Bernie voters. It is the image of Amy politely dismembering Pence (with wife attached to his side) which holds a humorous appeal for me. Kamala would just be done with Pence in a quick, but merciless, first minute on stage together.

Nikki Haley may have something to say about that! :)

Abrams would be a fine pick. But Biden had earlier hinted it would be someone with experience on the same debate stage with him this round. I liked Elizabeth Dole for President, back in the day, but she didn't get past Iowa.

It's a bad strategy to pick someone who also ran in 2020. The public already said, "No thanks. We don't like you."

So maybe Joe will pick Harris, Klobuchar, or Warren. :p

I'm already planning to vote Haley in 2024.

No one has emulated Carter since Reagan dug us out of the nearly fatal trench he put us in. Trump, aside from his personal putridness, has continued running up Obama's already-massive deficit, destroyed savings account interest rates with his near-zero lending rate, and all with nothing to show for it. You'll likely need a bigger paycheck in Trump's economy because everything may cost way outta reach for most Americans. But Ivanka will be okay...

Reagan picked Bush who had labelled his deficit-spending as, "Voodoo Economics,"during the 1980's primaries (which Bush lost). Bush, as you know, served 2 full terms as Veep and one term as President following that. So much for that theory...

I'd have to look to see if Bush was the last man standing next to Reagan in the primaries or an early-out (like Harris, Klobuchar, or Warren) to agree or disagree.

Trump wouldn't have been foolish if he had chosen Cruz as VP, because Cruz was the 2nd choice for Republicans, so he had a good deal of support, unlike the umpteen other Republicans who were "done" early in the competition.

If one of those three women were standing where Bernie Sanders is standing today, then it would be a good strategy.

Guessing that's got to be your approach when supporting Satan for President. How's Al Capone Jr. sound to you? Pretty good choice? How about the corrupt pimp down the street? Pretty good rep for America?

The President represents America. When President Bush barfed on the Japanese Prime Minister's lap we all knew it wasn't on purpose but it made us all look weak and ill mannered. These days your pre-teen son can talk disgusting trash about his female classmates' body parts, openly mimick the disabled kid in his class, and when disciplined can proudly and honestly say, "the President behaves this way!" That's what's, "REALLY SAD"!

What would be comforting is a choice of someone somewhat qualified. Alas, that is unlikely.

Bush lost pretty soundly to Reagan in the 1980 primaries.

Pretty much anyone is more qualified than the dummy-in-office now whose predominant past experience includes running his own personal businesses into bankruptcy while ripping off his sub-contractors. Easy to see that pattern unfolding before our eyes right now. Isn't it?

So, Bush was second choice, even if by a wide margin. To my point, it would have been a bad strategy if Reagan had chosen John Anderson as a running mate.

You know what you didn't do with all this drivel? Try to actually deny anything that I said. Instead you went in on the attack. Yeah, my post was probably a bit hyperbolic considering I seriously doubt that the cosmos actually cares what happens on this infinitesimally small speck of dirt that we live on. But the fact is that leftists have nothing but identity politics to run on. And you obviously cannot deny that. The only thing that I'm surprised at is that you didn't throw in a Hitler reference. And while Trump may be boorish and ill mannered at least he doesn't kowtow to every identity group out there that screams the loudest.

Well, he just "kowtow"'ed to the corona virus which only a few days ago he labeled, "a HOAX."

Anyway, you want me to deny that Trump acts like an ******* but you like his politics anyway? You're arguing with yourself, KS.

Sadly each human (let alone the free world's leader) is judged for their entire character and track record. Not just one or two components. If your kids' teacher shows up for school naked with poop smeared all over their face but teaches a good history lesson, you are you saying you'll compartmentalize and be okay with that. No wonder the GOP is losing its credibility.

Kinda think that's a reach (seeing how poorly Bush fared against the Gipper). John Anderson was more like Bernie, an independent outsider. That's why Warren may be a good choice. Personally wanted Bloomberg to run the ticket.

You do know that is disinformation right? LINK: SNOPES ~ Did President Trump Refer to the Coronavirus as a ‘Hoax’?

Where did I want you to deny that Trump acts like an ass?

The only one that's arguing with themselves is you since I haven't said anything that you've stated in your post.

Reagan also didn't have much completion from the Democrat candidate, so it's a different ballgame this year. Biden's choice is more critical, no matter who he choses, and that choice will likely be president if Democrats win the election.

I don't think that someone's gender should be a factor in the VP slot (or in the presidential slot, for that matter). Biden should choose the man or woman, white or black, who is best qualified to serve as his VP. Otherwise, he is guilty of sexism: "men need not apply."

Actually SNOPES confirms that Trump did in fact call it, "the Democrats new Hoax," and went on to say it wasn't a big problem. Yesterday he flip-flopped saying it is a major concern and yielding (for the first time ever) to the REAL geniuses.

And I said, "he acts like an ******* but you like his politics anyway." You left out the latter qualifying half of my statement.

You're splitting a lot of hairs Kal'Stang and I feel you're wasting my time.

Yeah I kinda feel that way too. But it's politics and the barometer for winning suggests he needs a female to attract votes. Wish the Democratic Party would go with the best qualified rather than fulfilling a rainbow requirement. Not sure the executive branch is the best place for exercising affirmative action. But until that glass ceiling is broken having a female in office will remain taboo in the USA. These women: Warren, Abrams, Klobuchar, Harris are ALL amply qualified so I'm excited for the opportunity to help them get there.

Au contraire LSG! Reagan's Democratic competitor was an incumbent President! Really hard to beat. And without Carter's last minute Disaster in the Desert with the lost chopper / rescue mission for the Iran hostages who knows how things may have turned out? There may be far more similarities between Carter's and Trump's bids for reelection than you feel are prudent to admit at this juncture. ;)

Do you have a reading comprehension problem?

"President Donald Trump likened the Democrats' criticism of his administration's response to the new coronavirus outbreak to their efforts to impeachment, saying "this is their new hoax".

And then what was said RIGHT UNDER where you screenshotted and then edited to only include what you thought said what you are trying to push?

    hoax.jpg

    Wait... what's that....

"Despite creating some confusion with his remarks, Trump did not call the coronavirus itself a hoax."

Now, how about actually addressing what I said instead of spreading falsehoods and making strawman arguments. Here's the original post that you responded to just for a point of reference.

Notice that I didn't once mention Trump, corona virus, or anything else that you have said.
