you forgot you forgot $25 million for the Kennedy Center so they can furlough 250 employees. Wowzer, that was money well spent.

That's the problem with emotional knee-jerk decision making. We had extremely flawed, and fragmented information about this virus, from the very start. Most all of it was over exaggerated to the point of being absurd, that's the information that our lawmakers were using to make all these frantic, knee-jerk decisions.

You were probably reading fake news, which lied about Trump signing his name, because Trump was never going to sign the checks. His name was only ever inserted into a comment line, that's it

Thats fair. All I'm saying is that the stimulus could only serve its intended purpose if put out quickly, necessitating a certain lack of accuracy, not whether the shut downs that led to it were necessary (ftr, i dont think the shutdowns were warranted except maybe in a handful of the most dense cities. .. then again, hindsight is 20/20).

Didn't read whole thread, usual suspect repetitive nitpicking was giving gag reflex.

Locally owned non-chain, non-fast food restaurants would be another possibility for a good donation too if anyone thinking of giving money away. Really hurting these days in many areas.

This is why we should only be giving checks to people who are newly unemployed and struggling businesses.

i usually only skim the first page of a multi page thread, if there's too many repetitive whinings i exit, if it doesn't i skip to the last page to see if it hasn't derailed into a bs off topic whine...

as for me, i'll cash the check at the local check cashing joint in singles... then use them as toilet paper...

and i'll thank the government for providing me with that roll of toilet paper...

and it would have been easy enough for the u.s. government to work with states to find out who the newly unemployed were. Instead of giving $1,200 to every Tom Dick and Harry in the United States we could have probably given $4,000 to each newly unemployed person and still have saved tens of billions of dollars

The point was to pump money into the economy as fast as possible.Ya know...to keep it from imploding

The point was to pump trillions of FED dollars into the banks, buying their falling assets that have wrecked the repo markets, at par value instead of market value, with no obligation to repay

I have a nice job and got my check. I saved it in the bank so it basically did nothing for the economy. I'm a selfish guy so I'm keeping the money, plus what if I get fired in a month or two. The check can pay a couple months of my mortgage I guess.

True, but I'm not fired and I may never be fired. Plus if I am fired, then I would actually benefit more from great unemployment benefits and help with my health insurance.

Oh you're probably going to be paying more in taxes in the future, because of the runaway spending by Washington, so why wouldn't you keep the $1,200

That's a damn good idea, now give me a couple weeks to get all my papers lined up, should I start a church or how about a wildlife rescue operation, yeah that's it, I will call it Save A Fox Foundation. Everyone sign your checks over to me and you will be saving a Fox. A StarFox that is. Truth in advertising.

Good men dont hide taxable income. You did claim in one post yoyyou only turn in 15 percent of your income. If caught that is a felony. So in principle you are a criminal. Good people are not criminals.

Crooks have one thing in common. They live by their own laws that always benefits them . And then shoot from behind a cross.

:rage:ยด ~ The way government spends & squanders taxpayer money we should all go on strike and not pay any tax ! Seems that's what it will take to get America back again ... :steamed:

The Kennedy Center is pretty terrific, though. Free performances daily in addition to top billed shows ... If DC is closing all but essential services, they have to close, too. You can watch past performances online while social distancing and live online when all of this is over.

Make it some kind of endangered fox species, this way some people won't even bother to research you organization, and you might get even more money than just their stimulus check.

Endangered Darwin Fox so cute https://calwil.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/foxingloves_finalcopy.jpg

the money is dual purpose, to help people pay their bills and to get money in to the economy, so retired people hopefully will spend it on hookers or sumthin like that. Luck old codgers.
