Even 85% of people over 80 years old are surviving the virus. 60-80's doing pretty good, depending on other terminal conditions. If you're under 60 and it kills you, then you're one of the unluckiest people in the world, because the odds of living are stacked highly in your favor.

We did not drop from 2 million to what may be 200,000 by the end of the year because 40-50% of people lost their jobs. Almost half the workforce is considered "essential".

There was no lock down. Every worker is essential to the economy.
