Now the value of those advisors seems to vary depending on whose toes are being stepped on at any given time, but they all started out respected experts to that point.

The American people have had enough of this death spiral and are pushing to get back to work. That's where we're going unless and until this crap reaches Black Plague proportions and yes, more people will die, some will do that in any one of the more acceptable methods of killing ourselves like driving a car.

This President didn't want to lock this country down and we should remember that if this grand opening goes well. I've no doubt it will be remembered if it's a disaster. Let's try to be fair about it, don't make sht up.

Bush Jr. started a totally illegal war of aggression against Saddam in 2003 and then totally failed in Iraq to create al Qaida and then IS in Iraq, and ultimately help Iran gain influence in Iraq!

Obama has failed many times ... in Libya against the bastard Gaddafi, in Syria against the bastard Assad and also in the fight against the IS scum ... but despite his failure the approach was correct and well founded and also legal.

And Trump? Well ... Bush Jr. targeted Iraq as a target even before he was elected. even 9/11 you wanted to put Saddam in your shoes and in the end Saddam even came up with the ridiculous phrase "War against Terror".
Trump chose Iran and even if he has not yet attacked, Flynn was the one who always pleaded for an attack against Iran and even made a ready plan of attack in the Pentagon. And if we look at trump's actions against Iran, all that's missing is the US attack!

 

The virus is winding down and becoming irrelevant. The people who are determined to keep it going on and on (at least until next election) are in danger of becoming irrelevant also. Already it has proven to be less fatal than initially feared. The red states will open and if blue states don't want to, they can stay closed and who cares? Except their citizens will revolt when theirs are the only economies that don't recover quickly and when people are going across state lines to eat in restaurants.

 

I just hope that all these people who see their civil rights limited and therefore protest against it ... as well as all those who put money above human life ... just get COVID-19 themselves and die from it!

The whole US health system is overwhelmed with the virus and unfortunately mostly those who have no or only ridiculous health insurance within the lousy US system are currently dying.
The only thing missing now is that people in USA start shrug their shoulders aboutand start sorting out who gets one of the far too few places on the expensive intensive care unit when he needs it and who is too poor for it. Has something directly from the ramp in Auschwitz when the trains arrived .... on the right you are still young and healthy enough, you can still live a little longer, on the left in the gas chamber to die.

 

Irrelevant. Trump screwed up COVID-19 testing and now he's likely to screw up the economy while killing a lot more Americans.

We might not develop a vaccine, but we are likely to develop treatments. If we beat down the virus, we might have time to develop effective treatments so that even if there are outbreaks they won't kill a lot of people.

Some were in development when SARS-CoV was eliminated.

It might have also escaped your attention that more wars have been fought under Democrat Presidents then Republicans. So, if you don't like warmongers, you should stop voting for Democrats.

Let me put the Flynn situation to you in another way. Let's say you were stopped during a traffic stop. Without any probable cause, they took your keys and searched your trunk. In the process they discover the 10 kilos of cocaine that you were transporting. Since they did not have any probable cause, or your permission to search your trunk, the search was illegal. Now, let's say, you have a ethical prosecutor that tells the judge that the search was not legally conducted, they were dropping the charges against you. Are you going to sit there and say that you would argue with the prosecutor?

This is what has happened to Flynn. There was absolutely no grounds for the FBI to open an investigation. They already had the transcript of Flynn's call with the then-Russian Ambassador. They knew that Flynn had not broken any laws, but they opened the investigation anyway. Just like an illegal search of your trunk, the investigation should never have been opened. Without the search of your trunk, the police would have never have known you have the cocaine. They would have given you a ticket for your lead foot, and you would have gone on your merry way. Flynn merely wants what you would have gotten. If the FBI had not opened an illegal investigation, then they would not have been in Flynn's office to entrap him into lying.

Now, I really doubt that you would argue that you should still be sent to prison, and ignore the fact that the search was illegally conducted. Sure you wouldn't. You would dance merrily out of the court. You might even go so far as to request the cocaine back.

Just to let you know, it's starting to become obvious that in Greece and some former Soviet Republics where the Corona virus is not as prevalent as in other places, that it has something to do with the TB vaccine being mandatory. The immunologists are studying the connection and as yet haven't reached a definite conclusion.

British Columbia never locked down (I know because my wife and I decided to ride the pandemic out in BC instead of Oregon) and you can see from the illustration above they've reduced the number of COVID-19 cases. 5m people and not many sick folks.

Greater Vancouver is an international city and has half of BC citizens. Why can't we be more like them? We would only have lost about 8,700 people if we had the same death rate.

Why isn't Trump preparing the country for a rebound in the Fall by getting business to churn out effective PPE? Why shouldn't you have access to a mask like this?

No, I don't like Trump's unwillingness to make sure we have enough PPE for the general population so outbreaks can be squashed quickly without us having to shut down again.

Work where, doing what? If even 25% of the people refuse to go out and spend, we're going to have a depression. 20% of Americans are over 60. I don't see how we can have even close to a normal economy as long as the virus is circulating.
