Liberals are destroying their party with their social justice warrior BS. Race relations more important than results and quality of work. Personal feelings are too important. I feel like that party should be split into two: separate progressives from moderates. Then split republicans to moderates and religious yahoos. I suggest the following names for resulting 3 parties: Normals, Social Justice Warriors, and Religious Yahoos. The Normals party would run this country indefinitely for our common good.

 

The problem with that idea is the fact that ALL the Trumpers already came out in 2016. Most people admit that he was seen as a Great White Hope while not even her followers really liked Hillary. Nobody expected him to "win" (and I only put that in quotes for the small detail that he didn't in actual fact). We libs were complacent, behind a sure, but unpopular, winner, the cons were charged up with the idea that they would never again have a real "Genghis Khan is a bleeding heart conservative" to vote for. We stayed home, they came out.

Now c'mon Trumpers, do any of you REALLY think Trump has picked up anybody? Even if any of us were so inclined the last 4 years of "**** you, we won" is going to sour the most independent Independent.

Look, EVERYONE is more concerned with their job and their career than they are with yours, even most of the pols who run on platforms which say they are not. Note, I say THEIR job, not the job of the guy in the next agency or even the guy in the next cubicle. They're not about to risk their job and freedom in shady deals just to advance the interests of people they don't know and have never met or an even vaguer ideology. Human beings accomplish a lot more when they work together but they really dislike doing it, this is why government usually has to coerce it and it often doesn't work even then.

PS: I’d be open to seriously considering Sanders if he was on the ticket against Trump. I am in favor of recreational drug legalization, as well as elimination of all victimless crime and reformation of student loan system, so I can align a few of my views with Sanders. But Biden? I voted for Sanders in the Texas primaries. It would have been better for Trump to go up against a man who is conscious and on top of his platform regardless of platform, than an old guy who is mentally suffering and going downhill.

Biden's only good for sympathy votes. A real battle of political philosophies would have been much more interesting.

I would think that there should be a fair number on the Blue side that would like to dump Biden - certainly the anti establishment crowd should not be happy with Biden as the nominee.

In the case of Trump you have a whole bunch of reasons - being an establishment wonk being one - same as Biden. Trumps philandering and so forth may not sit well with some on the religious right - while they may prefer another candidate - they will still likely show up for Red.
