This is a country that is ruled by law, so the only way to bring these types of police brutality to an end is to change the law or create new laws to combat this type of lawlessness. There needs to be one set of standards for police and sheriff departments across this country.

 

It's not an impossible job, most cops are good people and NEVER have these types of incidents.

At first you claimed it was a technique that is often used, I showed you it wasn't and now you are moving to a new excuse.

We know from the bystanders that there was no resistance. We know from the video that there was no resistance. The guy got handcuffed by 1 cop who was far smaller. I paint it like everybody sees it. Thug cops in the US are all over the place. I saw they arrest a black reporter who identified himself. I saw the police make up lies why they did it. I saw thug cops shooting pepper bullets at an other reporter. I saw thug cops use pepper spray when driving by peaceful protesters. I saw a thug cop run over a peaceful reporter from behind with his horse. I saw thug cops smacking a recording cellphone out of a protester. I saw a thug cop tossing a teargas can in a car with a woman in it. I saw a man complain to the cops that his wife is pregnant while the cops kept on shooting pepper bullets at them. Thug cops are just everywhere. Get over it.

Even if 1 or 2 bad cops out of 100 slip through the local screening and selection process, I'll argue that local city control of officer standards is better than a blanket national law. The people close to home elect the Mayor and the Mayor appoints the Chief of Police...who sets the standards for the police force. It is easier for the people to control what happens in their own city at the local level...and it's quicker to correct mistakes.

At a national level, we could some day easily vote some tyrant into power who sets a nation-wide rule which is tyrannical, despotic and dangerous. Look at Venezula. Venezuelans were happy with Socialism under Chavez, who appeared kind, benevolent and generous, but when Chavez unexpectedly died, incompetent and ruthless Maduro took over. Maduro tossed out Venezuela's constitution and wrote his own so he can reign until he dies. He militarized his dictatorship and the state started torturing and murdering citizens for nothing other than disapproving of his government. The citizens had been disarmed and are trying to fight for a return of freedom with rocks and Molotov cocktails against a well-armed national government military.

You can't say that the people of Minneapolis are unhappy with the mayor they voted for, or with the chief of police. One bad cop slipped through the system and committed an egregious and unjust murder of one of the citizens. Obviously, if "knee on the neck" was still an approved police procedure in Minneapolis there, it won't be one after this incident.

The ME came to the same conclusion, there was no evidence of strangulation as such he ruled the death resulted from complications of a pre-existing medical condition, medications and or illicit drugs.
