We have the summary report, we know from the evidence he was already experiencing shortness of breath, coronary distress, before he collapsed to the ground. The ME report says it was not asphyxiation or strangulation. Where am I speculating?

LOL - you're asking who is defending this cop? Look in the mirror.

In recent years there have been calls for right-wing political rhetoric to be reigned in after demonstrations and shootings. But now with what's happened in Georgia and Minnesota should left-wing political rhetoric also be reigned in:

Bail for ex-Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin has been set at $500,000, according to the criminal complaint filed in the 4th Judicial District Court of Minnesota.
According to the document, there have been no conditions set for his release.
The document doesn't indicate that Chauvin is out on bail, but it does say that if he does bond out, bail is set for $500,000.
The order of detention box is not checked because Chauvin was not ordered detained or remanded.

We don't know that he was experiencing shortness of breath while he was still standing. He was saying, "I can't breathe," while they were trying to get him into the car and he was resisting, and before they had him on the ground in a position where he literally could not breathe. What might make a black man say, "I can't breathe," other than not being able to breathe? Current political messaging, maybe? You're also speculating that him saying he couldn't breathe indicated that coronary distress was already happening.

Anyway, if you're going to speculate, then speculate on EXD as cause of death. One of the four officers seemed to be more aware than the others that the situation was becoming increasingly dangerous to Mr. Floyd's life. He kept suggesting that they roll Mr. Floyd out of prone position.

    From the report: "
The officers said, “You are talking fine” to Mr. Floyd as he continued to move back and forth. Lane asked, “should we roll him on his side?” and the defendant said, “No, staying put where we got him.” Officer Lane said, “I am worried about excited delirium or whatever.” The defendant said, “That’s why we have him on his stomach.” None of the three officers moved from their positions.
BWC video shows Mr. Floyd continue to move and breathe. At 8:24:24, Mr. Floyd stopped moving. At
8:25:31 the video appears to show Mr. Floyd ceasing to breathe or speak. Lane said, “want to roll him on his side.” Kueng checked Mr. Floyd’s right wrist for a pulse and said, “I couldn’t find one.” None of the officers moved from their positions.

Now read a bit on people dying in police custody from excited delirium:

    ---

Now back to this case report from the medical examiner:

The combined effects of Mr. Floyd being restrained by the police, his underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in his system likely contributed to his death.

The defendant had his knee on Mr. Floyd’s neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds in total. Two minutes and 53 seconds of this was after Mr. Floyd was non-responsive. Police are trained that this type of restraint with a subject in a prone position is inherently dangerous.

    ---

If I were going to speculate, (which I will now), I'd say they'll find that Mr. Floyd went into an EXD state during the 5 minutes they were trying to get him into the squad car, and that Officer Chauvin should have known that putting an EXD suspect into a prone position could increase his chances of death.....particularly when Officer Lane specifically mentioned that he was worried about EXD and Chauvin refused to get off of Floyd's neck and roll Mr. Floyd over until the ambulance arrived.

As soon as Floyd fell into a state of unconsciousness, and they felt no pulse, the officers should have started CPR.

I hope Derek Chauvin gets life or the Death Penalty and the other three get consequences.

That cop is going to have a lot of fun when he gets to prison. ;)

I wonder how many inmates and would like to get their hands on him.

I predict that there is only one possible outcome for this no matter what might be his [the cops] legal conviction and sentencing - a death sentence. All of America watched this guy commit cold-blooded murder over a period of 8 minutes. Floyd was not even breathing for the last 3 minutes of that. He will be hunted like a dog until the day he dies.

You live by that now, how many bills or acts are there that rule certain aspects of society?

Sorry when racial discrimination was running rampant it took Federal legislation for the simple fact local and state folks would do nothing about it.

I didn't say ALL laws, I said policing.

Di Blasio and Cuomo are finding out the fragility of the house of cards they have built. The thinking that "The Resistance" was united on the side of Democrats is unravelling. They're finding that the feelings of disenfranchisement and rebelliousness they worked to build and to foster in language and propaganda "against conservatives" are turning against them in a crisis. The Resistance sees Democrats as not too different from Republicans. The Resistance is eating their own progenitors.

A federalized police force can become oppressive rather quickly under the wrong leader. Be careful what you ask for. We may all get it.

The police force is not supervised by one person, the laws across the board are the same. Got it now.

The death penalty has been abolished in Minnesota since 1911. They're "nice" people (unlike Texas where we tend to put murderers to death, depending on circumstances of the murder).

Charges again Chauvin are murder 3rd degree (Maximum 25 years), and manslaughter 2nd degree (10 years and/or $20,000 fine).

Prison inmates have their own justice system. Chauvin would likely have to be housed in solitary. Or...they could just throw him in the main part of the big house, depending on the judges.

The one guy, Lane, tried to speak up a couple of times that he was worried about Floyd's condition. He's the only one as far as I can tell who might deserve some leniency.

There's a least two of us that disagree with you:

The commentary on Trump and Twitter starts at 7 minutes.

    As well as the law
Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (CDA) of 1996 (a common name for Title V of the Telecommunications Act of 1996) is a piece of Internet legislation in the United States, codified at 47 U.S.C. § 230. At its core, §230(c)(1) provides immunity from liability for providers and users of an "interactive computer service" who publish information provided by third-party users:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Section_230_of_the_Communications_Decency_Act

To state that in a nation of free individuals that none can challenge the veracity and integrity of its political leaders, is to confess to having an overabundance of ignorance in matters of political liberty at best, and a deep corrupted desire for tyranny at worst.
