The voter will decide in November. I think the consensus at this point is Trump should go.

They aren't "hives" of nihilists, anarchists, socialists, or whatever. If the police would arrest the perps behind the looting, burning, and so forth, these guys tend to stop. The people of Portland and Seattle can deal with the problem. Voters have to decide what kind of city they want.

Why is Trump playing golf, tweeting BS about COVID-19 cures, sending federal forces to Oregon, and not dealing with the two HUGE problems of a faltering economy and an out-of-control pandemic? He takes the good PPE for the feds and doesn't use the Defense Production Act to make more available for sale to the rest of us?

You could safely ride transit with this (under $40)...

    CE4C5D92-1505-4305-BBB2-B9D9375E2C1E.jpeg

and a ski mask. You'd only need to wear one when we need to cut transmission in a hotspot. This filters out 99.7% of coronavirus particles.

Why are Americans dying because they don't have an effective respirator?

Both happened, the latter because of the former.

Now, I don't know why Victoria is having problems, but the rest of Australia is still humming along. New South Wales (7.5m people) has only eighteen new cases. Queensland (5m people) has just four.

    Here's what the BBC says...

This is how their economy is doing.

We lost 30+% of our GDP in 2Q while they dropped 7.5%.

My question wasn't did they both happen but which one saved their GDP. Opening the economy up was the remedy, lowering the number of fresh cases was an arbitrary condition.

Trump didn't cherry pick PPE and he didn't need the DPA. Democrats wanted him to do that to give them another reason to howl about him declaring martial law. He got cooperation from manufactures without taking over their systems.

He isn't the first American President to like golf.

Right, so it's not even PARTLY because he wants to enforce the rule of law by cleaning up human waste off the streets of these rotten HELL HOLE cities. :roflol: Also, stop CONSTANTLY spamming the thread with that gigantic graph. We get your point, even though the US isn't actually leading the world in cases or deaths, despite your best efforts to claim it!

You haven't demonstrated that this was required. Is this even something that the Democrats criticise Trump for?

How did he "pressure" them? Those governors ignored Trump's plan for reopening! So what the hell are you talking about?

    By doing what exactly?

Well actually they are. They are protesting NON-peacefully.

If I thought that "protesting and rioting" were the same, then why would I use those two separate words?

When did I say that they ARE?

Yeah right! So then why has there been unrest for over 50 straight days? :roflol:

Yes, and in this case you had no comment for why there have been no CDC leaks! :roflol:

You referred to their "decades long problem with radicals intent on co-opting peaceful protests to fight with police." I consider that slamming. You called them NICE cities. Why the hell is that relevant to the crime that we're seeing?

How the hell do you know that "those people at that time" didn't include the human waste who attempted to burn down the church?

Yes there was - to protect the church, as well as to widen the perimeter around the White House for safety reasons. The protestors were given an order to move on and they refused, making them now non-peaceful but non-violent. Then some violent human waste targeted the park police. Then the park police acted accordingly. So I'm really not sure what the problem was. If a bunch of armed right wingers protested in the same location during Obama's presidency, do you seriously think that there wouldn't have been a perimeter set up? :roflol:

The amount of virus circulating impacts the willingness of consumers to leave their homes to spend money.

Trumpers can't get it through their heads we have to get their new case count wayyyy down before we can sustain economic activity sufficient to prevent a serious and sustained economic downturn.

The government has taken a lot of PPE. Trump has not used his power under the DPA to make effective PPE available for sale to Americans who want it.
Yes, he does in order to break production monopolies by companies like 3M.
    Propaganda Alert!
No, he said they cooperated when, in fact, many did not.

So, Seattle and Portland are "HELL HOLE cities?" Have you even been to either one? The Liar-in-Chief makes up stuff and you parrot it on the forum.
Good to see it makes you feel uncomfortable.
I haven't commented on whether or not we're "leading the world" in cases or deaths because I don't know if countries like Brazil and India are reporting accurately.

Have you spent your time behind a door? Frontline workers still don't have quality PPE, let alone the rest of us.
Trump encouraged demonstrators to pressure governors to "open up."
By praising governors who stick to their guns in support of the guidelines and criticizing governors who do bar owners' bidding and open too soon.

You're all for leaving states alone until sticking your snout in their business serves your political agenda.

So, if bad guys live in your city, that makes where you live a "hell hole?"

There's no accounting for your thought process.

You go on and on about consumers won't shop and that is the silliest excuse for a lockdown I've heard so far. Go by a Walmart or a big box grocery store today and watch people shopping. Your left wing propaganda doesn't fly in the real world. We are killing our economy over a terrible decision being made by people with questionable motives.

It has nothing to do with lockdown.

What it is talking about is that while people are afraid for their lives, there is no way in hell you are going to get a recovery.

You can't close your eyes and wish it away...

No, he didn't and doesn't need the DPA, it is being handled by corporations equipped to handle it. Democrats want him to invoke that control so they can accuse him of being a dictator but he's smart enough to see through them.

No, he insists that businesses will go broke anyway because people won't shop and his remedy is to shut the country down. It's a stupid position to take and it is killing a lot of small businesses. It really doesn't matter if you have your eyes closed or not, the economy is being wrecked and to what purpose?

    He?

The economy has been wrecked because Trump can't do his job.
