Not sure but would you agree that an employees right to sue for an employers negligence is worth something?

If so why does congress get to give our right away for nothing in return?

Sure doesn't seem like a fair trade to me.....

    Sure.

But anyone can still try to sue anyone for anything at any time regardless of the shutdowns/lockdowns. Liability protections just transfer the liability to other entities, often regulatory bodies/the govt.

No 'right' is 'given away' by letting people go to work...

Didn't say go to work......I said allowing businesses to not be held liable when their negligence causes sickness/death to an employee.......

So why does only one side have to compromise again?

Ha.......what you saw was my response to you dodging what I wrote. Nice indeed.

The reality is that both sides have their position and neither was willing to move far enough in the other direction in order to get a deal. That is the reality of the situation. I know that. I acknowledge that. You on the other hand are the one bogusly, and foolishly trying to convince yourself that it is only one sides fault.

Some of us are realists, and some of us are blind partisans. I am clearly the former and you are clearly the latter.

You start with condescending bull spit like this...

And fail to address any of the facts I've laid out like one side starting at 3T and going down while the other side never moves off 1T all the while the 1T side waited up until 2 weeks before peoples unemployed was set to expire .......if you feel proud strut your stuff bubba

So in order to get what you want you just need to start at a RIDICULOUS starting point and regardless if they are trying to get all their pet projects included Republicans are required to acquiesce?

Thats not really how it works, although undoubtedly that is the spin they are feeding you. I am sure that you are convinced that they simply want to send granny crashing over the cliff, because that the type of BS that a great many leftists choose to believe.

And $2 trillion still had pork. Proving that the Democrats care more about their pork than COVID victims.

Republicans already got Trillions for the Rich, they told us they would handle the common folk later

everyone knew that "later" would never come if they got everything they wanted for the rich up front

They had a plan. Democrats demanded a trillion dollars of pork or they'd just let the COVID victims continue to suffer.

Because the guy with less money usually gets railroaded no need to make it easier for that to happen imo

Liability protections worded so vaguely that gross negligence would be nearly impossible to prove

Republicans demanded liability protections be removed from employees of corps that put them in unsafe working conditions and would just let the COVID victims continue to suffer if they did not get that

    Further

The CARES act was set to expire july 31st

When extra unemployment benefits and other coronavirus protections end https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cn...ts-and-other-coronavirus-protections-end.html

The Senates bill the HEALS act was introduced 4 days prior to the CARES act's expiration

Senate Republicans introduce HEALS Act, next round of COVID-19 response | Yale School of Management https://som.yale.edu/blog/senate-republicans-introduce-heals-act-next-round-of-covid-19-response

So again Democrat house passes a version on May 20th (over a full month before CARES expiration)

While the Republican Senate doesn't introduce a bill until July 27th (4 days before CARES was set to expire)

Sure, and that makes sense to some degree. Ambulance chasers with pocket change can cause small businesses lots of money even when the business WASN'T at fault.
