If he respects law and order, why did he fire into a crowd of protests, murdering two and injuring one, and get himself arrested? It is not law and order to take the law into your hands any more than it is to obstruct investigations.

Right. I remember my dad talking to me about firearms when I was in my late teens. He told me that if I ever shot anyone in self-defense to expect to be arrested for murder and put on trial by a district attorney, even though at the end of the day, I'd most likely be exonerated. He was primarily talking about defending my own property at my home.

This kid is in for a long, legal slog because he was not in his own home defending his own property...and he may or may not get off.

I am reading that the Covington kid's lawyer is taking the Rittenhouse case.

The story seems to indicate he was there to protect a business from hatred. He only shot people after they chased and caught him.

 

If stand your ground is involved it doesn't have to be in your home.

 

Was he not arrested at home? He had no choice really, his name and face was all over social media before he shot anyone - he thought he was some sort of hero before anything even happened. All prats - the looters and those "heroes"

i do wish people would do there research before posting.. the first article I read on this said he approached responding police cars with his hands up, who promptly passed him, would seem he intended to surrender on the spot.. maybe he supposed going home to consult and attorney.

Yes, I know. The laws have become a lot more broad and lenient since I was a teenager.

The fact remains, however, that if you shoot someone in self defense, you should still expect to be charged with murder while the legal system works out the details. Some shootings would be quick and easy to clear up, like defending yourself in your own home. Others, not so much. This kid is in for a "not so much". What's coming for this kid is not going to be quick or easy.

 

Rittenhouse could easily raise a pile of money for his defense, but of course they'll shut down every crowdfunding attempt.

I really don't see your point. The narrative folks in MSM are using is that this was somehow a "dangerous fugitive" "fleeing across stateliness" to "avoid arrest". All those seem entirely unfounded at this point. SO why continue to express them now? He did turn himself into the police. That seems to baffle lefty posters here who want to imagine that swat had to show up and arrest him, which didn't happen. it sounds like many of you are disappointed.

Having to ask for help to protect yourself and your business from the "peaceful protesters" seems a ridiculous state of affairs for a pretty small town in Wisconsin. I guarantee you that it wouldn't have been necessary here in TX. The BLM mob are there to intimidate no matter how many times they claim to be peaceful. There are just too many examples now of where that "peace" hasn't been respected by member of their mob. We have burned out cities all across the nation to demonstrate that. I am unclear what you refer to as a "prat", what does that mean, to you?

The thing that folks seem to remember is that we do have a basic civil right, the right to protect our person, and in states like Wisconsin and many others, the property that we own. That protection can be asked for, and is entirely legal to do so. If the residents of Kenosha felt threatened, and they asked for assistance, and it wasn't delivered by police, why can it not be provided by folks who volunteer to do so? TX was aided by many such like minded folks, and is why TN is known as the Volunteer state. There is a history here, in this country of folks coming to the aid of others. Why fall victim to the mob if you don't have to?

On the other hand, they didn't have much to contribute when a felonious illegal alien stole a federal law enforcement's firearm and shot an unarmed woman on a pier.
