While true, it doesn't mean that we need to calibrate rules for the stupid... I say let the stupid die off due to their own stupidity (that would improve the collective IQ of the world, eh?) ;)

    WOW.... That's painful haha

Like I said earlier, let 'em cull themselves due to their own stupidity... ;) We'd all be better off for it! ;)

Yes, that is something which is being taken into consideration where I live, Scotland, as our cases rev up. During the lockdown people who were deemed to be particuarly vulnerable because of co-morbities were supposed to be 'shielded' which meant they got everything done for them but had to stay in their house often alone. This time they are not doing 'shielding' due to the mental effect it had on people. Another thing where before no one was allowed to visit anyone's houses, this time people who are in a 'bubble' can. A 'bubble is two households, one of which contains just one person or one person with children and another house, usually family'. Again that is to avoid the mental effects of social isolation. We are in no way in a full lockdown just no visiting houses and some sanctions of hospitality especially those selling alcohol.

A guy called John Campbell who does at least one video a day. I think it was yesterday he said that.

That sounds like a good plan to address the growing issue. I really wish people would pay more attention to the mental health issues people face in light of COVID19. I was socially distancing long before it became a thing and it doesn't bother me to be isolated, but I can still recognize that this is NOT easy for extroverts. I'm in the USA. Hopefully, our leaders will start paying attention to this aspect of social distancing.

Thanks for sharing what it's like where you are.

I have never heard from anyone that children are not carriers. I have heard the media and Democrats distort Trump's words to claim he said children are not carriers.

Schools have reopened...and I'm staying the hell away from kids...parents of kids...and teachers.

It sucks but I'd rather stay alive

    Where are you Lesh?

I'm in IL and some of our schools are open but both my kids' schools are still on remote learning. Our governor is not opening until there is a vaccine but I don't know if that's feasible long-term. I'm honestly surprised that people aren't more concerned about children being carriers. It's well-known that they spread stuff all around their schools and neighborhoods. ;-0

Me too. There is an elementary school several yards away from my apartment and they are back in session. However, my kids (middle school and high school) are on remote learning with no plans for reopening in the near future. Our governor is reopening in phases and we won't be open completely until there is a vaccine.

I really worry about the mental health of people who feel trapped inside and the kids who are getting even less socialization than they did with just video games. Cell phones everywhere is their link to the world now. COVID19 has definitely created a new "normal".

I’ve yet to meet the person who is skeert enough of C19 to protect themselves effectively at all times. We all have our personal levels of risk we are willing to subject ourselves to as well as the number creature comforts we are willing to sacrifice to effect that tolerable level of risk.

I’ve scoured my previous post looking for the word “mask” and so far can’t find it. Masks are but a minor factor in my above point. But I have discovered there is one thing that could unite this country. It’s the abject furious reaction to the idea of mask usage at home. Whether one is consistent in their beliefs masks aren’t effective anywhere, or one believes masks protect others and themselves everywhere but at home, the hatred of the mere suggestion of using masks in family settings is universal. Perhaps it could reunite the left and right in this country. :)

Since you brought masks up, I’ll comment further on what to me is the most enigmatic aspect of human reaction to this pandemic. It’s the stated desire by many to protect others they don’t even know in public by wearing a mask, but go home and subject those they love most to the same risk (or greater in most cases) they claim they want to protect strangers from. It’s truly bizarre.

    Are you ****ing serious?

If I get it...my wife will get it. Consequently we BOTH try very hard not to get it

And masks and hand sanitzation when we go out into the infected world are a big part of that

You pretend intelligence and yet don't seem to get that

They all live in the same place the kid got inoculated and where they got innoculated, the community.

Just as serious as the last time you blew a gasket when I suggested treating those you love with the same respect as strangers.

As I said, the creature comforts your wife provides are ones you are unwilling to give up to mitigate risk. I love when people prove my point so succinctly. I’m grateful to you for doing so here even though your doing so was unintentional.

Oh, the very thinly veiled ad hominem was appreciated as well. I’m more than happy to have every reader of my posts judge my intelligence. Kudos to you for your honest opinion. :)

Don't go to a Trump rally if you don't want to consent to the risk. Are you willing to consent to the risk of driving, crossing the street, going to work?

The only places were masks should be required is for essential businesses and were workers don't have access to n95 masks to protect them from customers... Hmm wait that's almost everywhere! Oh well.

Wait, what percentage of risk is acceptable?
