    We have had 9 justices for what 197 years? It has served us well. The one time a change was attempted, by FDR, it was soundly and bipartisanly rejected out of hand. The size of the court is determined statutorily by Congress and the President and as we can see once again can be done so for political reasons. Thus the 28th Amendment in three variations. And as as disclaimer option 4 would be pretty radical and I think would doom any chance. But as the cited article says people support at least the size by 3 to 1.

    A constitutional amendment would protect the judiciary’s independence.

    We are Democrats. We want to see Joe Biden become president and Democratic majorities in the House and Senate. But we oppose expanding the size of the U.S. Supreme Court.

    Cast your vote.

    Me for option 3 for stability and planning for replacement and we cannot ignore the fact that the older we get the less we can do and do to our previous levels. Make it 78 years old and that will end your term. And also we don't have justices hanging on an hanging on for their own political reason when they are long past a retirement date. It actually makes it MORE political having the lifetime appointments.

    legally amending the number of Supreme Court Justices is a perfectly acceptable to the GOP's fascist tactics.

    FACT: if Biden wins and there is a vacancy in 2024, a GOP-run senate will not allow his nominee to get a hearing. They will reverse again, so as to keep a Democrat from having his nominee on the Supreme Court. The GOP has lost all integrity.

    thats why if the Dems win the Senate, they MUST add two more Liberal judges.

    the GOP-run Senate has lost all integrity.

    they have decided there is one rule for Democrat Presidents and another rule for Republican Presidents.

    the GOP-Senate has decided that ONLY a Republican President may nominate a supreme court justice in his last year in office.

    because Trump and the GOP used dirty tricks to put Conservatives on the supreme court.

    they stole a judge from Obama and they may have just stole a judge from Biden.
