My Wife and I voted against it because it's too hard on businesses and will drive up costs. Also, if you give your lowest paid employees a two dollar raise, you have to bump up the pay of everyone up thru the ranks who works for you.
Hahaha....that of course was in regards to a FEDERAL minimum wage of $15. In other words going from $7.25 to $15 on federal level. So you still have not shown any real factual data for the claim you made about job losses in FL due to increasing from $8.56 to $15 over six years.
And that is the problem. The unemployed poor people will be in real trouble. But the employed poor people at least will be able to live, theoretically. You should look into the idea of a $0 minimum wage. Theoretically that means a 0% unemployment rate since anyone could find a job at some rate, no matter how low.
Minimum wage workers in Florida are making ten times more than minimum wagers anywhere else in the so-called civilized world. I hate to be the guy always pointing out the obvious.
Yeah, I'm sure if jobs would be lost nation wide, somehow Fl would be exempt from that, did you not think that thru?
Never once stated jobs wouldn’t be lost. So your attempt at putting words in my mouth is an utter fail. So, basically you have no idea what amount of jobs would be lost in Florida. Just wanted to point that out.
That wive’s tale about costing taxpayers less has been pretty much debunked. https://epionline.org/studies/the-e...reases-on-means-tested-government-assistance/ Pull quote from link.
When they jack up the minimum wage, i think the unions all have it in their contracts that base pay for their members rides on the minimum wage. So union jobs will pay more

Female workers would lose two-thirds of the estimated total jobs lost.
So you think 26,000 jobs will sink the Florida economy? Can you just admit you exaggerated the hell out of this in your OP?
Oh, boohoo! $10. Come on, nobody can live off $10 and hour. Plus, your milk won't cost $8. Maybe a few cents more than now. I would gladly pay this price to make it a tiny bit easier for minimum wage workers to make a living.
