The shutdowns are taking place globally.

Opening businesses is a solution. Risks of contracting Covid are very slim with social distancing, masks, and not having face-to-face contact with anyone longer than 15 minutes.

Interfering with food distribution is a totalitarian control tactic, not a solution.

    Yes. Duh.

This virus is the opportunity the WEC is using for a Global Financial Reset. If shutting food distribution to the masses is an indication, this "reset" is not going to be pretty for anyone but the partnership of Banks/Politicians/Mega-corporations.

The bigger problem, I think, is her horrible decision making. She closed all non-essential businesses, except big stores. She didn't define what big meant but just said that you would know it when you see it. When people complained that Dillards, Hobby Lobby, etc. were open while mom and pop stores were closed, she came back with her revised plan that shut down pretty much everything except for grocery and hardware. The original order let Walmart (big) stay open because that is the only grocery store in some areas. Now, they have to close too when they get 4 cases of an employee getting sick. So, the people will just travel to other areas to buy their stuff which spreads this crap even more.

She could do this smartly but is way too lazy so she makes wide sweeping statements that turn out to be stupid.

There is no smart way to block healthy people from working and earning income. People will cut any non-necessity items, then cut their health care premium, then car payment, then rent/mortgage, then food.

This will increase suicides and other 'at home' deaths.

But there is stupid ways. For example, allowing people to go to the lake but not to camp overnight. Closing golf courses while allowing Dick's to remain open. Shortening a store's open hours to force more people in (or in line) during the hours they are open. Arresting a guy for being on a paddleboard in the middle of the ocean.

With the massive death rate stemming from this virus, this makes total sense /sarcasm.

    Here is my forecast.

All the countries that imposed extremely harsh shutdowns and kept their infected numbers low will deal with continued resurgence of the virus and draw out continued mitigation efforts as new strains appear.

Countries that allow it to run its course, protecting only the most vulnerable, potentially deadly, will build up natural antibodies.

I'm convinced this is governement testing how much control they can impose during a pandemic.

Mass testing will lead to massive shutdowns...

They should not shut down for a handful of asymptomatic positives in young workers.

11 businesses now closed. 244 on a "government watch list".

Hunger is a way of life under communism. Best to get people acclimated in small doses. Then again, a business that shuts down for two weeks may be out of business.

Who in their right mind would want to start a small business and take the risk of investing capital during this Covid hysteria?

Nice jab at the right, swing and a miss because that's exactly what they'll do if they need to go to the store... I drive 25 miles one way to go grocery shopping. As for driving to the polls to vote, never again should we have to endure the boondoggle that was this election (and y'all already knew it would be that way). Mail-in ballots, as we have now seen with our own eyes, are the most unorganized way to have an election.

I think it is based on a mentality that the Government has to do something, even if the government action makes things worse.

    Okay.

    From the news source.

Doctors at New Mexico’s largest hospitals said the worst is yet to come in the state. “I think what’s most important for everybody to recognize is this pandemic is not getting better at this point,” Dr. Jason Mitchell at Presbyterian Hospital said.

Mitchell said they are already well above normal capacity and close to full. They are bringing in staff from outside the state and opening up hospital units in places where they normally wouldn’t do so. “When we see hospitals this full, we are talking about folks who got sick two to three weeks ago,” Mitchell said. “Our rates have increased since then significantly so we know two to three weeks from now, it will be a whole lot worse.”

Have you seen the lines at the grocery stores here? They're insane. And THERE ARE NO OTHER STORES. What makes you think there are?

The solution is common sense. Stop letting fear control your life. If you have underlying health conditions then be smart enough to stay away from places containing people. If you need groceries then get them the lazy way and have a grocery slave pick your food and bring it to you and load it in your car while you watch.

Dude, there are at least 3 stores closed in just my city, possibly 4, 2 Walmarts and either 1 or 2 Albertson's. The line at Sam's club is hideous.

If a democrat determined your life you might never even have a chance at life.

I didn't mean someone picking your fruits and veggies for that reason. I mean it in the sense that you may prefer medium softness on your avocado and search for the firmer apples. I wouldn't want someone else picking that for me. They may also miss the brown spot on the lettuce you would have caught had you been there getting it yourself.

FTR: I'm not saying you're being lazy for letting someone else do your shopping, although I pick on my sister and, in jest, call her lazy for it.
