    We aren't "overburdened" with low-skilled workers. Much the opposite. Nor is the labor market a zero-sum game. Nor are all asylum seekers low-skilled.

    Cost of illegal immigration =/= cost of asylum. And you aren't looking at actual, net costs. And most of the gross cost is from enforcement . . . a cost you want to see increased. Even if you were correct about the net costs (and you aren't), you'd still be wrong when it came to people applying for asylum at the port of entry.
