I am not blaming only Trump but Trump ran his mouth the loudest, promised the mostest, and did the leastest. The tariff war caused the American consumers to pay for it as a tax and we the American taxpayers paid our farmers for the agricultural exports they lost but Brazil, Argentina , Canada sold to China.

The illegal immigrant rate actually was going down under Obama and Obama had deported more than Trump.

His renaming NAFTA was all smoke and mirrors I have not seen anything tangible fir the American worker out of the renaming.

After four years of promises China is still the economic aggressor and is making inroads in Africa because it is looking like Japan did 25 years before Pear Harbor.

Ah the comfort of knowing I've built a decent enough life as to be able to retire and move to a place where I can life the rest of my days in silence and modest comfort while the country burns at a distance. For over 20 yrs, I heard how China is stealing USA corps intellectual property, IP.
But they never did nothing about it, because sending their designs to China to be built was still hugely profitable for them. Even if China would take those designs and create their own products from them.

Then there were many many small companies without much of an Engineering dept send their ideas to a Chinese company to develop their idea into a product. Which they did, but the Chinese company completely owned the design. These companies agreed to this contract.
Then when it became to expensive to do business in China or the sales were not enough, the prices skyrocketed and those companies would come to companies like those I work for the redesign the product and build it here back in the states. And they had no documentation because they didn't own the design.

And it failed. Near 4 yrs of tariffs and we still have a bigger trade deficit than before. It failed. As past tariffs tries had already proven.

Go look at trade deficit with them. Go look at farmers who lost markets and trump resorted to socialism to help them with the lost markets.
Go look at all the time we tried tariffs in the past, most of them if not all, failed.

Standard Chartered last year predicted that the US in 2020 would lose its crown, saying it's unlikely to ever become the most powerful economy again once it slips behind. They were wrong, these prediction will continue to be wrong.
