I think DeKalb is just slow in counting, and they are running over 80% Democrat. I think it is done. Condolences to America for the next 2 years. https://fivethirtyeight.com/live-blog/georgia-senate-election-results/
Sure, the way the Warren Commission snuffed out the JFK conspiracy theories. But seriously, the operative term there is non-partisan. If there was a corral somewhere from which to pull this species, why would all of the voters who bemoan the woes of partisanship (including myself) not have used the group to fix our current Congress? Not that there aren't people who are non-partisan. Many of them work, or had worked, in government agencies, for Presidents of both Parties. However, as soon as a certain group of voters don't agree with them, they claim these people are secretly partisan. I read the linked article, just to see if the author suggests a way of choosing the members of his proposed commission so that all would accept them as non-partisan, even before they got to their controversial work. He does not. Just points out all the problems in the past. This is something that sounds good, but offers no solution. The judges of our judiciary are supposed to be, not only non-partisan, in their judgements, but also impartial. Are their judgements, then, not accused of partisanship? The investigators in federal district attorneys' offices are, by regulation, supposed to act in a non-partisan manner. Is that why the investigations by the SDNY U.S. Attorney's office was so broadly accepted as legitimate? Unless all the aggrieved are willing to believe any who tell them that their suspicions are unfounded, there is little that can be done.
Clearly, to prevent a civil war, the(less than) half of the country that doesn't love American values need to stop supporting Trump.
I would argue that most of us pursue the same goals, but are divided on how to achieve them. And then there are a small minority of people who try to divide us with talk that one side or the other is actually evil. There are people on the left who say it about the right, and vice versa. The left side was much louder for the last four years, and I'm sure the right side of that whinging minority will raise their voices for the next four. I guess folks need to ask themselves whether they want to be in the group that's trying to tear us apart.
Yeah, your soy boys armed with rocks and piss bottles would be big favorites against 75 million gun owners. Good luck
Meh, it's only two years and anything can happen. Dems will try to push left too hard and too fast, alarming the majority of Americans between now and 2022. They may push so hard that Joe Manchin changes parties, giving Republicans control of the Senate. Heck, he doesn't actually have to change parties to vote with Republicans on important issues. Joe Manchin, the only swing voter on the left, just became the most powerful man in American politics.
You really believe the military will be on the left's side? You think law enforcement would be on the left's side? Are you people out of your minds?
The military will be on the side of the president who didn't spend four years cozying up to our enemies and denegrating service members.
The left has divided this country (by design) for decades. That is a 100% fact. But let me guess, if Biden gets in we should all 'unite'? Get real.
This is why the dems having control of the WH and Congress doesn't bother me. Manchin is a dem from a deep red state. He'll keep things from getting out of control.
Yes, yes, tell us all about how one side is so bad, but your side is good. You're definitely not trying to divide us, you're just telling it like it is, right?
Sure, I agree, my political posting here is a hobby for me. My Covid-19 posting is not; I consider it to be more of a mission to dispel misinformation. In regards to that, the "intelligent" debate part is questionable, given the absurd baloney that some people post about it. But politically speaking, while I did vote for Biden this time, I'm an independent too, and not only I voted for several Republicans down ballot, but in other elections I have also alternated between Republicans and Democrats.
I doubt that the Democrats and many of the Independents who believe the election was unfair are "aggrieved". They're probably happy Biden won and at the same time recognize the many irregularities and are very concerned for future elections. Some people are still objective and open-minded even when getting their preferred outcome.
I don't give a **** if I"m 'dividing' anything. Truth be told, I can't stand progressives. The time for 'unity' was 4 years ago when we finally had a president (for all his faults), wanted to put AMERICAN citizens FIRST. The left had a 4 year meltdown of epic proportions. Think about that. Attacks, hoaxes, dossiers, impeachments, etc against the president and all who support him, just because they wanted to look out for America's best interest.
Trump is a man. Trumpism is an idea. People in a free country consent to be governed. The Democrat platform, at its core, represents an ideology of authoritarian global government compelling consent of the people. Trumpism is not going away.
I would like to see your basis for saying that Democrats & Independents who voted for Biden believe that the election was, "unfair (your word)." That does not seem to logically track. What I have seen in polls, is that many believe there may have been some inaccuracies. It would be inaccurate, IMO, to characterize those of this opinion as believing the election was unfair.
Honest question, can you please give an example of one part of the Democrat platform that "represents an ideology of authoritarian global government compelling consent of the people" and explain how it does so?
No. Stone Mountain will remain 'as-is' until the Chinese and Russians come in and take over, probably in about another ten years. It is uncertain yet how they'll divide the country at that time... but probably the Russians would take over the eastern half, and the Chinese would get the western half. Whoever gets which half, they'd probably quarry the Stone Mountain granite and use it to build a new provincial capital. The present U. S. Capitol would be converted into the world's largest gaming arcade, carnival, and whorehouse -- pretty much the same as it is now.... . "Free stuff! Free stuff! Vote for me and get even MORE free stuff!"
