You will have to excuse my lack of fauxrage over a politicians bad optics and hypocrisy. When folks are outraged about BOTH sides, then they have a leg to stand on, until then....*yawn

/gasp nobody would expect it?!? Pardon me, friend, but the pure hysteria the left has fabricated over this demands impeachment in the least!!!! Ok now I feel bad, I've been sarcastically taunting you with this, Ego. The meat of my earlier posts was what I was hoping you would respond to. Ya know the real threats America is facing; flood of illegal immigrants, rising fuel/food prices, nearly a trillion dollars in COVID 'relief' being wasted on kickbacks and pork. My bad for not throwing up the /sarcasm flair.

Cruz took off for vacation, in violation of the advice he gave Texans, then came back and began trying to "help" when he was caught. Sorry, but those are the facts. Half assed whataboutism isn't going to change the facts.

Pointing out that others turn a blind eye when it's their side is not "wutaboutism" it's laughing at the shameless partisan hypocrisy. Spare me your fauxrage. Or maybe I read you wrong, can you direct me to your objections of prominent Democrats who traveled for the holidays while admonishing us not to do so?....I'll wait, and wait some more, no doubt.

This isn't just going on holidays while admonishing others not to do so. This was an extreme emergency. My response was to those falsely claiming that there was nothing he could have done, which is a proven lie. But keep running away from that truth if that is what your position requires. I'll wait, just as I always have, no doubt.

    And a pandemic is NOT???

How did I know you remained silent?
Spare us your hypocritical, new found rage. Did the cold follow him to Cancun, like a virus?

What do you think about senators being required to live in their district, and remain there in times of crisis?

I don't think it should be a requirement for them to stay there during a crisis, but we should also feel free to criticize them for trying to sneak out

    1. I had no meltdown. I like to report on hypocrisy, regardless of which team is doing it. I report it when I see it.
    2. Not a democrat.

Representatives should be required to live in their district. Senators should be required to live in their state. Senators don't have districts.

Oh oh oh. I got this.

Both teams are filled with pond scum sucking politicians.

    Cheers!

He has no official responsibility on how Texas manages its power grid. How’s that “hypocrisy”?

I guess you aren't following the topic. It's right there in the OP.

Houston mayor Sylvester Turner quoted "We don't leave ship when it's in trouble." Senetor Ted Cruz did just that when he jump ship for Mexico. Do you think Cruz is sorry?

Point still is he had no official reason NOT to go; Texas as an entire emergency response infrastructure and ERCOT is independent of any other utility. What was Cruz gonna do? Driven around, getting in the way?

I don't know if he's sorry or not. Nobody does unless they know him personally. I think it looks bad on him. You can't force compassion. Either a person has it or they don't. It certainly appears that he doesn't.

So, you are suggesting that we should only do those things which we are "officially" called to do?

There are plenty of things that he could have done instead of asking for a police escort to get his family to the airport for a trip to Cancun.

The trip was ethier planned ahead of time or he did not want his family to freeze to death. He did nothing wrong and is not required to do anything other than sit in a chair in DC and vote on stuff.

They are just angry with him because he contested the election over the credible accusations of voter fraud. This is just retaliation.

The OP is trying to say he is a hypocrite for attacking the mayor of I think Austin. That mayor told people to stay home over covid 19 and then took a trip. Different situations.

Difference is I don't remember Ted Cruz telling anyone to stay home so even the OP's argument has no standing.

The last big ice storm in Iowa was February of 2007. Ice knocked down many trees and left central Iowa without power for days. The power company fixed the problems.

In my 36 years of living I have never seen a senator asked to do anything disaster related.

This thread is just a bunch of hate on a Republican. Typical Democratic cancel culture of anyone they don't like.

The OP says she is not a Democrat but 99% of her posts seem to support the Democrats. I have yet to see her say anything good about Republicans but maybe she will surprise me one day.

Nobody has ever asked a senator to do more. This is just a meltdown from the left because it's Ted Cruz.

Exactly. She is one of the most biased non Democrats I have ever seen.

If this was a Democrat I doubt she would have started a thread on this.

All he is required to do is sit in a chair in DC and vote on stuff.

Since this is a big deal for you and others the next time there is a disaster in a Democratic state I expect you all to start a thread demanding those Democrats help out and do more or else be branded hypocrites.

Your failure to notice my hatred of Pelosi, or chastising her ice cream BS is your issue, not mine.
Your failure to notice my hatred of Maxine Waters and her foul ways, or her calls for violence against Republicans is your issue, not mine.
Your failure to notice my hatred of everything to do with both Clintons, is your issue, not mine.
Your failure to notice the few things I praised Trump about, warp speed, for example, is your issue, not mine.

I point out hypocrisy wherever I find it.

Point of order - Ted Cruz DID tell people to stay home before skipping out of town.

If he did nothing wrong, he shouldn't have cut his trip down from several days, to less than 24 hours. He cut his trip short as soon as Texans found out. I wonder why he did that. Ponderous.

Nope. I point out hypocrisy no matter who it is. I have no love for any politician or team, so I have no need to look at their team's colors to see how I feel about any particular topic.

Ted Cruz is near the top of the slime in DC, along with Waters, Graham, Pelosi, Schumer & McConnell.

Do you sincerely believe that a representative of the people SHOULD BE ASKED to do something?
