What has Biden done so far that actually helps, or improves the lives of, ordinary Americans? I'm really trying to be optimistic and need some help. Since he's only been in office for a month, what will he do to improve our lives? I hope not to hear fuzzy ideas about how nice he is, just his policies or actions. I don't care how much he improves the lives of citizens from other countries, just ours. And this isn't about former President Trump, just President Biden.

Whether Biden is good, bad or indifferent, many of us swing voters are just happy to be rid of a 74 year old man who behaved like a four year old spoiled brat with his name calling and temper tantrum throwing. Happy to be rid of a 74 year old who played an excellent 3rd grade schoolyard bully. Happy to finally get an adult in the white house who behaves as a grownup should and has the dignity the office of the presidency deserves.

Yep, politics, policy, stances on issues all became irrelevant to the very unpresidential behavior of the former president. Of his obnoxious personality and his very rude and uncouth persona. Will I be happy with Biden and company as time goes by, who knows? But I'll never question my vote for him over the spoiled brat who's parents forgot to teach him any manners and who mentally wise failed to grow up into adulthood.

Come 2022 if I'm dissatisfied with what Biden and the Democratic controlled congress has done and is doing, then I'll vote Republican in the midterm. But I'll never question my vote for him last year or was it just a vote against the spoiled brat? Doesn't matter, Trump's gone, I'm one happy camper. The future holds what it holds.

The president is never "good" for the country. The only honest discussion we could have would be about the degree in which the "good" Americans do for the country, is hindered by the president/government.

    BINGO!!!

And for the OP, if you really want to know how Biden will be different than Trump I suggest you read Biden's policy statements and the Democratic party's platform revealed at the 2020 convention. I'd suggest you also read the Republican party platform but....they didn't have one. Their platform was, wait for it - Donald Trump.

I'm quite comfortable with the competencey & decency of Biden and his administration.......

Right now, the left wing progressives are pulling his strings. It can't last because too many people are getting angry angry, so he's going to have to move to the center. His open border push is DOA, $50K student loan forgiveness is DOA, his GND is struggling as more people start wondering, "how will I work if I can't afford a new electric vehicle?", Covid is being morphed into "Since when do the teachers unions decide when children go back to school?" Joe and Jane Latte' aren't see any benefits other than higher gas prices which translates into a cut in pay.

And the streets are still full of homeless, and Antifa/BLM are acting as if they have special immunity.

"Orange Man Bad" as a platform is not an operable method of governance.

So far we have multiple answers on Trump, and Biden sent FEMA to TX......wow, how impressive!

Must suck to have absolutely nothing to be entusiastic about your guy for.

Exactly. The problem is they don't want to read it and continue to live in denial.

I'll be the first to admit it. Biden is boring, but boring and competent is what we need now.

It is rather simple, swing voters gave Trump the White House in 2016 and swing voters took it away from him in 2020. You can equate swing voters to independents, I never liked the independent monocle. It swing voter is better as it defines us a bit better.

One thing you should know or remember is swing voters were fairly split on Trump's policies, stances on issues, etc. For some, against some. So there's has to be a reason other than policy that swing voters who went to Trump in 2016 by 4 points, 46-42 over Hillary with 12% voting third party against both changed and went to Biden by 13, 54-41 with 5% voting third party. A swing of 17 points away from Trump.

So ask yourself why? It wasn't really Biden, he was an old, very bland, unable to inspire any enthusiasm. Yet he won by 7 million plus votes. There were quite a lot of ticket splitters among swing voters, voting for Biden, against Trump then voting Republican down ballot. This enabled the GOP to pick up 13 house seats, 2 state legislatures and a governorship all the while Trump was losing by 7 million plus votes.

Isn't it strange, Republican congressional candidates received more votes than Trump did. There must be a reason why. I think I gave you that in my previous post.

So, President Biden will send emergency aid to Texas. Good. Is that all? I am uninterested right now in how he compares to Trump; yet that is mostly what I'm reading.

I agree with the democrats on this forum. He won't do anything good.

The only good news is that will increase the chances of Trump endorsements being successful and this his own re-election as well.

Maybe it will all be revealing for Americans and will overcome the media lies.

Yeah, I'm already not feeling good about this. Very discouraging if even his supporters can't find anything good, except aid for Texas, which any president would (and has) done in emergencies.

The vaccines he and Harris said they don't trust? And it doesn't take a president to order pharmaceuticals, doctors and hospitals do it all the time.

Fauci will want to prolong his fame and fortune so will keep us in pandemic mode as long as he can. It'll be FII of the American people.https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/fabricated-or-induced-illness/

We also know, the democrats listen to the scientific authority over the actual science so Biden will listen when he should not.

How will Biden be good for the U.S?

    Reasons #1 thru #101

    He's NOT Trump!

I have to think about Reason #102...

I promise to check back in when I settle on Reason #102.:flagus:

OP question "How will Biden be good for the US?" Bridget, please tell us what you found when you googled the Biden administration's goals and policy initiatives. What was your takeaway? Was there anything there that appealed to you? Let's make it easy, he's published most of what he'd like to accomplish, what did you think of it? Perhaps start easy, have a look at his 100 day plan. Just google Biden 100 day plan and read away. I've read it, it's ambitious and they've already been very busy. I'll add something else, the Chief of Staff position in the White House is a post WW II thing - and Biden has probably the best Chief of Staff in over 40 years. His name is Ron Klain....and he's that good.

Like I mentioned in an above post, competency & decency are back in the White House. This is my opinion, it may not be yours - you won't know until you check things out for yourself. Or you can just sit back and read stuff on an internet forum, the choice is yours......
