Yep. With liberals in charge of every major city, even in Texas, infrastructure maintenance goes to crap in a hurry.

ERCOT is an independent non-profit entity not owned by the state that is run by a board composed of consumer and producer representatives. Abbott has been very critical of them and has called for their investigation. You claim that he has been lying seems completely wanting of facts.

You just showed how little you know financing, building, and regulating infrstructure.

    It was never late.

I had posted multiple stories and links in this and many different threads.

It was no secret that coal plants failed. Along with most every other source of energy.

Abbott lied about the immediate cause of the problem.

Decisions have been taken over many years to do infrastructure on the cheap. This is what happens. Who promoted or acceded to this approach? Why?

The state is still responsible, an "independent" board notwithstanding. Who was appointed and what is the board charged with doing?

The scary thing is that it works. It works because despite the internet supposedly making everyone geniuses, no one ever bothers to check anything so long as it confirms their views.

I asked for your source. You refused to provide it.
Partisan politics encourages that kind of unproductive pettiness. Alas.

Does the man-made global warming model predict new historic lows?

No, you were just playing a game and I went along with it. That was pettiness on your part.
I didn't refuse to provide it. I had provided countless links and stories.

I am not a D or R. So, you missed on that one.

Ah, the Dunning–Kruger effect in action... everyone is an expert as long as they are completely uninformed on a topic.

State government is responsible for its boards and commissions. Abbott should have been on top of this as governor.

Thank you for the on the ground report. We love Texans. We love your pride, your confidence, your certainty and your self-reliance, but let's face this squarely and admit that Texas just got knocked on it's ass. We can learn far more from an ass kicking than we ever learn from a win.

    So, what are we learning?

AmericanExperiment.org. "Texas gets electricity from six sources: coal, nuclear, natural gas, solar, hydro and wind. How did those sources perform, and what contributed to the blackout?"

    Opportunities for better prep:

"Some natural gas pipelines froze, contributing to the blackout. However:"
Green energy sources staggered, which is understandable. We know that these sources come with some inherent reliability issues that need to be mitigated with greater margin reserves:
Greater reliance on these 3 would have made this worse.
    Natural Gas Saved Texas.

With different lubricants and antifreeze systems they can ensure that Wind is more reliable in the next crisis. I don't understand what happened to hydro, I don't see any gray on the chart. Maybe it froze?

That poster is one who thinks Biden is to blame. So one has to consider that.

Fact: I asked for a source. You refused to provide it. Why deny the truth?
Now you offer an excuse: you thought I was "playing a game".

    Yes? No? Maybe?

It predicts that we will have highly unpredictable weather patterns. So maybe. Depends on the model.

No. I do like theories put forth by highly informed experts (I don’t know if anyone can ever be “fully” informed on any subject). It is vastly superior to the qanon Facebook experts that feed into the Republican narrative IMO.

You were playing a game. That is a fact.

I never refused to supply a source. In fact, I did. After I was done playing your game.
Plus, there are multiple sources and links to the power that failed in Tx. Some posted in this thread.
And if you were truly interested in knowing if coal failed, you stated you know how to use a search engine. You could have easily looked it up.

So, yes, you were playing a game and I played along.
