I read one of the initial drafts and it had a few items I think could be abused but overall it is a great bill that tackles election security and voting access — trumpublicans will hate it.

Just opened a thread, with the vote coming this week... I'd like to know your thoughts on the items that could be abused (over there).

We found out many times through many ways over the past 4 years that the laws can be abused. I'd rather put in a lot of good and plug holes later if something is abused than do nothing....

Source? It is what you always require of others. So find someone that supports your assertion here.

Which simply highlights how egregiously democrats corrupted the 2020 election. Voting by mail is, absolutely, the most openly dishonest mechanism that induces disenfranchisement. We all know it. Explain why so many folks voted from vacant lots, addresses that UPS cannot deliver to etc. When Joe Biden said he "has the worlds best election fraud team", he meant it.

This is exactly why democrats insist on using the method. It allows for almost universal fraud to happen, and it's entirely opaque. And here you are supporting it.

This forum offers a "like" endorsement. It fails to offer a thumbs-down, or a tolal load of self-serving manure option.
If the last was available, I would endorse that for you.....

Haha...so says you with your personal opinion which I reject in whole!

And yes, I asked the mods to move this from Current Events because it is opinion based only.

Your eternal confusion seems to be based on the fact that you support an authoritarian ideology, believing it to be a meritocracy, while believing that those who support wide spread political participation are authoritarians. Makes for a tangled web of self deceptions and tortured arguments.

It is a current event, the Republican efforts to undermine our democracy. It is quite evident, even on this forum, as many conservatives have made posts, insisting that the US is not a democracy.

All the charts in the world won't change the fact that marxism is the exact opposite of democracy and the left is pushing it. Pretty charts though, thanks for the pretty visuals

what voter fraud? We know voter fraud is statistically zero. We also know that the 2020 election was the most secure in US history.

Common knowledge? More like common lies. Only Democrats apparently have voters so stupid they can't find the polling place and so lazy they show up 2 days late.

Democrats complaining of authoritarianism is like Stalin complaining about purges.

Some people have jobs. Some people have several jobs. Some people don’t want to wait in line 4+ hours. Some people don’t have reliable transportation and must rely on other means.

Your goal seems to be making voting as difficult as possible. I understand that is the only way you know you can force your ideology on others but deep down you know it isn’t right.

It's an opinion poll. That's a fact. Are you claiming those were fake Trump supporters who responded?

I'm amazed at the consistency with which you can get it wrong.
Nothing wrong with full participation, and nothing that I or any responsible conservative has said reflects that.
On the other hand, to invite chaos and confusion in voting, to attempt to bring millions of non-citizens into the nation and give them voting rights- is gross mismanagement and wrong from one end to the other.
Citizenship and voting go together. Responsibility and voting go together. Contributing to the quality of government and the health of your country and voting go together.

Abusing the system to manipulate the vote for political advantage however- is the purview of people unfit to hold office, unfit to be citizens, unfit to vote.

I support a well-managed government that works for the people, protects freedoms for all, adheres to and respects the constitution, and is held to high standards- not a house of flying monkeys that can't find it with both hands and map, and that promotes ignorance and dependence among the people to weaken them and enhance it's power over them.

Pretty clear that you feel differently.

Some people are also dead others aren't legal citizens. You got twelve hours to get to the poles. If your vote doesn't mean enough to you to wait a few hours in line you don't need to be voting anyway. We managed with one day for 200+ years. What we don't need is more of this crap where the outcome takes two months to figure out.

The reason they took so long to figure out is because votes were not counted immediately. Guess which party mandated that because they knew their base was too lazy (or purposely ignorant) to look into it more...

And yes. I know. Voting should be made as hard as possible so that you can win. I bet if you applied this same metric to gun ownership or religious tax reporting your narrative would shift tremendously.

Why should lazy people be allowed to own guns? If it was important to them they would take that class, show up on one day and wait in line for 16 hours with all documentation in hand, pass a background check and submit to psychological testing — agree?

Your narrative is just sad, but telling

It sourced over a dozen different polls. Which one? (You could just as easily look it up but I’ll play along)
