I think the overall damage to property and business over the months of unrest was worse than one day in Washington. And just because jurisdiction does make a difference doesn’t mean it SHOULD.

If they go to public school I'm sure they will. But should they ever dare to look beyond the indoctrination they'll learn that a few selfie snappers who got rowdy once couldn't ever compare to a period where America endured almost a decade of leftist political terror. Why do you these leftist networks never cover it, these leftist politicians never become 'outraged' over it, and these leftist social media sites ban all discussion of it? Heh, because upon learning of the truth 9 out of 10 Democrat voters switch sides and the remaining 1 just becomes a stronger proponent of denial and censorship.

The protests over the killing of George Floyd, were over recorded facts, the insurrection of the Capitol was over false claims. Violence is never the answer.

So eliminate states rights and just have federal laws that govern us all?

i imagine many people were there for many different reasons.
Protests over Floyd are no better or worse than the capital riots or the Portland riots, or the many other riots.

violence can be an answer, when the government becomes tyrannical with no peaceful way to change it. But we are not at and hopefully never will be at that point. I don’t see that happening unless the constitution is trashed, elections done away with, and a dictator in place for life. Then violence is justified.

George Floyd was a junkie counterfeiter resisting arrest and was rightfully put down. What's the difference? Why isn't there concern that an unarmed woman was murdered? I bet she can't breath now.

Again, the Capitol insurrection was over false claims, and violence is not the answer, let alone a dictator.

Lol, what? No, I was thinking more along the lines of punishments in capital areas not exceeding what you might find anywhere else. Sure, some crimes get punished worse in some areas than others. But nothing excessive should be allowed just because it is the capital. That’s all I’m saying.

the fact that it was on false claims shouldn’t change anything. Why would it?

Heq should be charged and prosecuted.

But there seems to be no justification for denying him bail.

It is just miserable when the shoe is on the other foot for "justice."
You know, shooting someone because they are walking/running away or kneeling on their neck for over 8 minutes until you die.
MY, my, "justice" what a strange noun when you try to dissect it between the layers of economical/racial diversity.
You have no sorry from here.

Difference is he was murdered by a thug in blue and she was put down for trying to violently overthrow the election. They already stated no charges so get used to it. She got what she deserved.

Protecting our democracy comes before protecting a private business. As it should.

I find your story or should I say accusation that Harris said " political violence must continue". I especially do not. Elieve you that Harris would be stupid enough to say "must". You also have not posted proof that Harris said what you accuse her of saying so until you provide that corabirated proof I shall not believe a word that you say.

The Anus head who sat in Andy P's chair did not get into that chair via "beam me down Scotty". He was one of Trump's terrorists and rioters who illegally forced their way into our Capitol. But you knew that before you posted your nonsense.

If criminals occupied Pelosi's desk 100% of the time, it would still cost tax payers less!

a building is not “our democracy”. It’s a building. Politicians are not “our democracy”. They are corrupt powermongers who play the American people off eachother. By all means protect the building, but there should be no special severity of punishment for crimes dealing with it.

Pretty weak. Anyone trespassing in my house with a stun gun and arrested would probably be granted reasonable bail.

We are a republic and a douchbag with a stun gun trespassing is not a threat.

Protecting a government office does not come first. We are not an aristocracy with special protections for your elitist gods like pelosi.
