We saw some of this same behavior last Spring break. I know many younger people aren't very concerned about the virus but this is just uncalled for. I understand we value our freedom and individuality but we can't lose sight of being a community.

What do you think?

 

I agree 100%. You don't have to think too hard to realize everyone has a responsibility to be considerate of others. It's little more than common courtesy.

 

My guess is that DeSantis is welcoming them with open arms. The more the merrier. That's what happens when dollar sings take precedence over lost lives.

Its been over a year.. People know what to do by now.

What we really need is for one of these spring breakers to get prosecuted and convicted for assault and battery after passing covid to another person.

This is not over and covid still kills people.

 

The drunk 20-something frat boys (the usual spring breaker crowd) usually do not show up in the classes that I teach, or in my lab. And I don't want them. I usually have the ones who want to better themselves to go to med school or grad school. It doesn't mean they don't party here or there, but for them work comes before play.

In CA you can knowingly have sex with someone if you're infected with HIV and your partner doesn't know. So if you give that person the disease and there's nothing illegal about it.

As for the spring breakers, their body, their choice.

MoRon DeathSantis is absolutely choosing dollars over lives and this betrayal will likely be the centerpiece of his 2022 opponents campaign. I really wish Florida was a state where we could recall a Governor because we have lost so many and its undeniable that our deaths would have been fewer if not for the incompetence of DeathSantis, his belligerent anti-making, his ignorant re-open crusading, his willful manipulation of COVID data, and his Godless approach of putting business over lives. Said it before, saying it again, voting him out will be an absolute pleasure.

As for these Spring Break punks and their drunken rapy rampages, I hope they are charged with lengthy jail time, hefty fines, and hopefully those who are enrolled in college/university will be booted upon return.

Yeah, in CA you can get a whole 6 months in jail for knowingly giving someone HIV. How many people do you think have been arrested and sent to jail? My guess is if this law was enforced in CA the LGB community would lose their collective minds.

I think Joe Biden needs to ramp up vaccinations. I have been trying for months and its always booked and/or the sign in forms say 65 and older. In conclusion....

CV-19 positive and those with the 2nd Vaccine (and 2 week waiting period) should get back to normal and should be under no mask restrictions.

Kids should be back in school full blast.

CV-19 positive should not be getting the vaccine for at least 8 months and likely well over a year.

Actually, that is exactly what this is about. My personal responsibility is to tell everyone to stay the hell away from me. If you're sick and you pass it on to a another party, my chances of getting sick go up. If you are sick and transit an area where no one else has any choice but to use, wear a mask ! I'll do my part by wearing a mask as well.
