Caitlyn Jenner explores run for California governor
Caitlyn Jenner is thinking about politics. IIRC, I remember her talking about being a Trump supporter and wanting to do more to help transgender people back when she was first interviewed about her transition. It looks like the people of California are tired of their governor so this may be an opportune time for Jenner to step up to put her name in the hat.

    What do you think?

And exactly what if any are her qualifications?? She lived with the Kardashians??? She fathered six children and now she's a transgender woman??

I didn't really find anything that shows a strong history of political experience. I am leaning toward the belief that she feels her celebrity status will lend a voice for transgender issues in politics.

Caitlyn Jenner, a Longtime Republican, Revokes Support for Trump Over Transgender Rights

Caitlyn Jenner, the transgender rights activist who has long drawn criticism from members of the L.G.B.T.Q. community for her Republican leanings, unambiguously denounced President Trump on Thursday for his stance on transgender issues.

“The reality is that the trans community is being relentlessly attacked by this president,” Ms. Jenner wrote. “He has made trans people into political pawns as he whips up animus against us in an attempt to energize the most right-wing segment of his party.”

Caitlyn Jenner reflects on her political views: 'I changed my thinking in a lot of ways'

Caitlyn Jenner is reflecting on her political views.

Jenner, a longtime Republican, revealed she has "changed her political views" in a People interview published Wednesday about the five-year anniversary of her transition.

"I've changed my thinking in a lot of ways," the 70-year-old reality star told the outlet. Now identifying as "economically conservative, socially progressive," she believes "we need equality for all, regardless of who's in the White House."

"I love my community," Jenner said. "I truly want to help."

Jenner's political beliefs previously caused controversy within the LGBTQ community.

"They said I'm 'too controversial.' And that hurt," she said. "I think I had been wearing rose-colored glasses. I thought I could change the world. Now I know I can only try to and change one person at a time."

Last recall we got Arnold so this sounds right.
But who does she think will vote for her? The republicans who still call her Bruce? Or the liberals who still like Gavin?

He killed a person in a fatal accident where he was driving recklessly, but it wouldn't surprise me if those crazy Californians elect him

What in the actual hell is going on with the Republican Party?

Sex traffickers, pedophiles, religious cults, conspiracy theorists, failed reality TV stars, thieves and narcissists.

    Seriously, are y’all ok?

Honestly, it depends who he is running against doesn't it? I don't think anyone really knows what they are voting for when they vote for him but that can change with good campaigning.

If he is running for the purpose of being a transgender activist but then has republican views of everything else, it might put him in a weird position where no one is excited for voting for him. It's California though, so who knows.

Except neither of those are in politics any more —everything I listed is current. But sure — if you have to go back 20 years to fell better be my guest.

I would still argue that consensual acts are not as bad as the several dozen rape accusations against leaders of the Republican Party but ok.

Yeah! I'm sure all the Democrats learned their lesson from Bill and Carlos perversion and decided to become the Party of moral standards, but these two perverts seemed to have not gotten the message.

Jenner might have a shot simply because some are getting fed up with Newsom so it might be a "vote against" versus a "vote for" like what happened with Trump.

It is not for nothing that democracy is being denigrated.
While it should be possible to have integrity without bias, what is displayed is chaotic ranting.

I hear Kim is going to become a lawyer. She can be Jenner’s attorney general if she ever becomes governor.
She can hire the rest of the Kardashian clan to run the government as well. After trump, anything is possible.

    let's add to that

If Obama, Trump and Biden can be POTUS, then why not

Trump at least understood how to meet payroll

Obama was an empty suit having never held a real job

Biden has spent a half a century on the public dole

I find it funny you think that Trump understands things like payrolls and the like. Trump never dealt with the business on that level.

I agree with you on Obama

I would think that half a century in an organization would give one some experience in leading said organization. If someone had spent a half a century at Ford or Exxon or Coke would you assume they had no qualifications for running those companies?

I do not like most of Biden's policies, but the idea that experience is bad is just stupid

To put this in perspective, California recall is a dual system. On one page is the "recall Newsom, yes or no" on the other is "who do you want for his replacement if he is recalled". The last one had 135 candidates. (130 of them were just for grins)
Newsom has the advantage because the teachers unions don't want challenges to their power, and they have a robust ballot harvesting operation that will guarantee a win. Newsom is not a challenge to anything.

If I remember correctly, Caitlyn used to be good at running...

However, this is a state that elected the Terminator (also the same guy who fought the Terminator - go figure)... anything is possible...

But I don't see it happening...

But I'd love to see a National Governors conference where Caitlyn Jenner and Matthew McConaughey meet to discuss major issues in Ca and Tx...
