There are millions of real jobs that don't require knowledge of finance/accounting. I'm not agreeing that Obama doesn't have that skill set as I don't have enough information to make that determination.

Indeed. I have, for a long time now, no longer been recognizing it as a State, and have instead been referring to it as the SOTC (Socialist Oligarchy of the Territory of California). An internet friend of mine from another forum coined that term, and I've since adopted usage of it.

A different internet friend of mine (from that same forum) is the one who coined my Christocoin that I have started handing out as an award for exceptional displays of cleverness and exceptional mimicries of liberals (cleverness and mimicries are both traits that are regularly displayed by catbirds, just like the one that is pictured in my avatar).

Former Olympic decathlete and reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner has filed her initial paperwork to run for governor of California and will officially announce her bid later today, her campaign tells Axios.

The big picture: Jenner, a longtime Republican, is seeking to replace Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom in a recall election, hoping her celebrity status and name recognition can yield an upset in the nation's most populous state.

But in deep-blue California, she's decidedly not branding herself as a Trump Republican even as she's counting on some of the former president's advisers to drive her strategy.

She's assembled a team of prominent GOP operatives including Tony Fabrizio, the top pollster on Donald Trump's 2016 and 2020 campaigns, Ryan Erwin, founder of RedRock Strategies, and Tyler Deaton, president of Allegiance Strategies.

She's also hired Steven Cheung, a former Trump White House and campaign communications hand who worked on Arnold Schwarzenegger's successful 2003 recall campaign.

If Gavin Newsom gets recalled and Caitlyn Jenner elected, It will be like deja vu' if you know what I mean. Does Jenner have any political experience? Do any Californians want a woman governor especially that is transgender? Is California ready for this? Would the people of California want Caitlyn Jenner as Governor? Think about it?

Other states in the USA have had women governors and were natural if you know what I mean. Think about it.

 

I'm not in CA so I don't know their political climate. I always thought it was strange they voted for Schwarzenegger. I mean just because you like somebody's movies isn't a reason for electing them to office.

I've heard that California is more tolerant than other states so maybe her being transgender won't be an issue to voters. It will be interesting to see how Republicans, especially older ones, receive her as a candidate.

 

Well, he's definitely running for gov. I don't think too many people would vote for a person who could look in the mirror and deny the obvious.

You have a point. There perhaps not that many states that would not want a woman Governor in their state let alone Trans-gender. For the record. I used to live in California, but not anymore.

 

I find it interesting how so many people claim prejudice doesn't exist but a quick look shows them complaining about diversity in tv commercials, higher education diversity initiatives, women in politics, marriage equality for gay couples and transgender rights (and a million others).

Why did you leave CA if you don't mind me asking?
